I made these cookies often when the kids were little. They used to like to help put the m&ms on top. They would sell them at their lemonade stands but I think they and their friends ate more than they sold! I still make them around Valentines Day. The cookies look like a regular chocolate chip cookie, but the cream of tarter and cup of shortening give them a different texture and taste. It's hard to eat just one! They taste great and freeze well...if there's any left to freeze!

Thanks for sharing these. I can't wait to try them. They remind me of my hubby's favorite snickerdoodle recipe. It will be nice to try a variation with chocolate. Now I need to find Valentine m&ms. Yum.
