I saw a fun retro recipe book at a craft store in the Mall of America this past winter. They were offering classes to make them. If I wasn't so far away I'd have LOVED to go! I asked if I could buy the materials... but they didn't have any extras. Bummer.
I kind of forgot about it and then just a few months later when I was at another craft store, this time in Moorhead, I saw it again! They had just offered a class too. But they didn't have any extra materials either. Bummer again.
So I came home and did some looking around on the computer and found the book and recipe for the materials here http://katiebeecreative.com/blog/?p=389. I ordered all the materials and started my own book. My first page is done!
First I painted the chipboard with acrylic paint, then sanded the edges. I adhered the paper and added embellishments. This is what the back of my first page looks like:
You attach the rings and it fits neatly on this acrylic stand. I just love it...and I am having so much fun making it!
Now only 11 more pages to go!

Hi Laurie - My sister directed me to your blog - she LOVES your recipe cards. I don't share her passion for the kitchen, but do share a love of all things paper and really enjoyed looking about your blog. Your work is fantastic!
Ohhh I love that..going to have to check it out.
Laurie, your recipe book is adorable. I love reading your blog and trying your recipes. My husband actually does the cooking, and I can't wait to try some of them out.
You've got so many recipes to display. I'll bet this is a really fun project! I love the colors. So bright and cheerful for the recipe collection. Just perfect.
