More fun....with Poppy Stamps

I had a great time on Saturday making washi tape cards with friends, and lucky me...I have some more friends coming today to make cards!

We aren't making washi cards today though, but some Christmas cards instead. The one I am sharing today is on the list, but I'm not sure if we will have time, as I have so many planned!
I used my Poppy Stamp Deer Silhouette stamp, framed it with an oval and added some trees and Papertrey's "peace" word die using a snippet of designer paper.

Inside I stamped, " Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace good will toward men."

This verse is special to me as it was the very first verse I learned for my very first Sunday School Christmas program. I remember how scared I was...would I remember it..or not?

It was a pretty big deal back then, getting a new Christmas dress and having all my family there to watch. I wanted to get it right! Luckily, I did.
After the program, we would all get a brown paper lunch bag full of peanuts, hard ribbon Christmas candy, a popcorn ball, an apple, and other goodies inside. It was always an exciting night!

I'm entering this card over at Pixies Snippets Playground:

Pixies Crafty Workshop

And also at Jingle Bells.... they are looking for a "creature" which would be the deer!

Head on over and check out the other cards at the challenges, or better yet...play along!

Paper: SU white, blue lagoon, retired DP
Ink; SU black
Stamps: Poppy stamps Deer Silhouette
Dies: Oval nesties, papertrey word dies, Impression Obsession trees

The 'Peace' die-cut word is exactly right for the perfect scene you've created - love it!

Such a beautiful scene, Laurie! I loved reading your memories of this verse. I was the angel one year and had to learn the whole thing. I was so nervous and have never forgotten it. My grandson was very impressed that I could still remember it.

You have the most wonderful style--love everything you make! I adore this beautiful card--every single element! Who makes the verse stamp? I'd love to have that one.
