Marianne Designs Eline's Giraffe Baby Card for The Paper Players

Many of you know that my mother in law has been battling cancer for sometime now. Last week she passed away.
She was always there for me, and stepped right in when my mom passed away. I will miss our phone calls, visiting my kids with her, playing Farkel, her smile and sense of humor. She was my friend, my shopping pal, and I loved her dearly.

It's been hard blogging this last month as I tried to spend as much time as possible with her. I tried to preschedule posts, but I wasn't able to keep up with it all.

In fact it was my turn to host at The Paper Players Sunday. One of my teammates stepped in for me. Thanks Joanne! Not only did they cover for me, they also sent me a basket of daisies. I was SO surprised when I saw them at the funeral, and so deeply touched.

Sometimes I wonder why I blog, and I guess this is one of the main reasons. It's the friends you make sharing this hobby of ours!

So a big thank you to The Paper Players!

Here is the post I meant to have ready for Sunday:

I went straight down the first row with die-cut,baby, and blue. I used the adorable giraffe from Marianne and backed the lil guy on a scalloped rectangle from Cheery Lynn. The blue background is from Sue Wilson's scalloped lattice frames. I love that beautiful stitched lattice! The sentiment is also from Sue Wilson called "Stuffed Animals."

You can check out the design team here:

I hope you will play along!

Yes blogging has its rewards in the cyber friends we make...so big hugs from me as I am not near enough to ask you round for a coffee and chat. Now as for your card...this is so cute...I want to cuddle him...I have a liking for giraffes...don't know why but there we are! Love the scalloped frame too! Hugs xx

Your cards have been wonderful all through this tough time including today's adorable giraffe. I love that scalloped background. God Bless you through these tough times.

Great background die for this two toned giraffe and cute sentiment. Sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. I was almost as close to mine as my own mother and I know what you mean about missing the things you did together.

Oh, dear, Laurie, I'm so sorry about your mother-in-law. You were lucky to have each other and I know your loss must be difficult. I sometimes wonder why I blog, too, but then a wonderful reminder comes along and it refuels my spirit. Your team is very kind and thoughtful. Now I want to tell you what an utterly adorable card this is. I love baby cards but don't have much occasion to make they anymore. This is so precious!
