Life is Better at the Lake

This week at The Paper Players Jaydee has a sketch for us:

I was lucky enough to win a die from The Double D Challenges called, "Paddles, Rope & Ladder"
from Cottage Cutz.

Image result for cottage cuts paddles

I cut out the paddles, and the sentiment "Life is better at the lake" from Impression Obsession. (I actually cut it out 3 times and adhered them together for added dimension.)

Then I adhered them both onto the rectangle from Wplus 9 Sunshine Layers die.

I took the scalloped rectangle from the same set and cut it at a diagonal to match the sketch. Then I just added a few star shaped enamel dots form Stampin Up!

Laurie I love your take on the sketch, adding a layer over the diagonal element to temper it. Wish I had thought to do that! Cute card, love the sentiment too.

How lovely to win dies! Of course you had to try them out! It's almost a deja vu on the sports challenge last week too. You've used lovely colours and the stars are just the finishing touch.

Adorable, Laurie! What great dies to win! The colors you selected work perfectly with the nautical theme, while the stars are the perfect accent. LOVE it!

I like that die set and thought what a cool prize it is. Love how you used just the oars for your cute card. I'd probably be inclined to agree with the sentiment. Creative use of the sketch, too!

I love those bright colours you chose for card Laurie and that sentiment is so true! A great take on the sketch too - a clever way of incorporating the diagonal without making it the focal point.
