CAS Black and white sympathy

I did get some time in my craft cave last weekend and I made several cards.

I used SU black and white card stock for this sympathy card. The stamp set is also from SU, called "Because I Care." The sentiment is from Verve's "Notes of Prayer" and is stamped in SU black ink.

The challenge this week at Less is More is a sketch. I really like this simple layout and made several cards.

For this card I chose SU's Wisteria Wonder card stock, DP, and ribbon. The sentiment is stamped in SU black from Stampendous "Scripty Stems."

Happy Valentines day

I'm trying to get a jump on my Valentine cards.....because before you know it, it'll be Valentines day. This year I'll be ready!

This card is quite simple. I just punched out some hearts and arranged them on the side of the card. The sentiment is from Stampendous and is stamped in SU black ink.

It seems I always reach for black, red and white when I make Valentine cards. I love it, but I should really try some other color combos....hopefully I'll get some time in my craft cave this weekend!

Less is More....cut it out

This week the less is more challenge is "cut it out." I chose SU's Heart to Heart punch. I punched the hearts out towards the bottom of the card, then stamped the sentiment from SU's Seasonal Sentiments with SU black ink. The ribbon is some black checked from Offray.

Inside I adhered some SU Real Red card stock, which you can see through the hearts. It is not adhered directly on the back of the hearts, but on the inside base of the card. You can stick your finger through the hearts.

I just couldn't get the photo to work because of shadows, so I pushed the card flat so the red would show to take the photo, if that makes any sense!

I made this winter thank you card today....and wow.... is it winter outside!

It's so cold, school was 2 hours late today....because of dangerous temperatures for frostbite.

But I'm sitting inside tonite, nice and warm, blogging and watching the Office on TV.

I needed a quick thankyou card for someone at school and came up with this. I emboosed the bottom with my swiss dots folder and added some SU ribbon in the center. The apple was cut some time ago with my cricuit that I took out of my card candy stash. I added a simple Thanks at the top!

I finally got a chance to use my new SU lace ribbon border punch!

I think its such a pretty border. I also punched out some pool party and island indigo circles. I adhered those to the back of the border for some color, and tied on some pool party ruffled ribbon at the top.

The sentiment is stamped in SU black ink, from Afterthoughts.

Snowflake thanks...less is more

Somewhere along the way I saw a card with a wreath made out of snowflakes. It came to mind when I was making my Christmas thank yous, so I dug out my trusty Martha snowflake punch. I punched quite a few snowflakes out of SU's pool party card stock,arranging them in a circle. I also put a few gems on here and there. The sentiment is from Angel company and is stamped with Black Stazon.

There's just something about white and blue that looks so fresh and clean!

Winter thank you card

After Christmas it seems I am always in need of thank you cards. I made several over vacation.

I went with a winter theme and used "Winter Wonderlands" cute little penguin. I put a bit of glitter on his hat, beak, and skates, and some red Stickles on the brim of his hat. The ribbon and card stock is SU's real red. I also embossed the background with a CB snowflake folder. The sentiment is stamped with black Stazon from Angel Company, "Tag tidbits."

Off it goes in the mail today!

I made some mint bark the other day, and put some in my cookie cutters. I thought the trees would be fun to package up. I saw them on Pinterest.

I spend WAY to much time on Pinterest.

Anyway, I made a couple quick tags with my circle punches. The ribbon is SU's Lucky limeaid ruffled ribbon. The stampset is retired...Little Holiday Wishes.

I embossed this card using the Cuttlebug Christmas tree folder, then sprinkled a bit of glitter on and added a few pearls. The card stock is SU's real red and white. My last Christmas card this year!

This is another Pinterest find. I thought it was so cute, I gave it a try!

The original card is from Hero Arts, and is slightly different.

I didn't have the same stamps, so I improvised with what I had. The trees are just some triangles I cut out and tied with a bow. The money is folded into a tree shape. Such a fun idea!

Christmas Ornaments

Riding Hood Red has always been one of my favorite SU colors. I found some old SU DP that matched in my scraps and punched out some ornaments with SU's ornament punch.

I used some paper clips for the hangers....I saw that idea on some blog...not sure where....and added some bakers twine. The ribbon is also Riding Hood Red. The sentiment is a garage sale find from Recollections called Christmas Flourish.

I'm lovin' making all these Christmas cards!

I love making tags, but I haven't had much time lately...busy with all the holiday baking and shopping, I guess. Luckily I have some left from last year. But I did get a chance to make these the other day.

The card stock I used is SU's real red and white, and the stamp set Playful Pieces. The trees I cut out with my friends die. I added an SU pearl and lucky lime aid ruffled ribbon.

Now to start wrapping presents!

Button Snowman

This is my take on a button snowman!

I've seen so many cute snowman cards made with buttons I had to try one myself.

I chose the snowman from SU's Punch Pals stamp set. I inked up just the head and arms with black Stazon, and used some stickles on the hat. The card stock is my favorite red....SU's Real Red. It's so bright and cheerful....perfect for Christmas. The DP is some SU retired....love the polka dots!

Over at Less is More the challenge for this week is GREEN.

I decided to start looking at my Christmas paper first, and came up with this retired SU designer paper. I keep grabbing my stamp set, "White Christmas" from Craft Lounge...I just love it!

I used old olive ink and then tied on some bakers twine. I also sprinkled a bit of glitter on the snowflakes.

More Christmas cards!

Now I have my cards done that I need to get in the mail....but I still need some more for those I deliver personally.

I made a card with this color combo a few posts ago....SU pool party and soft suede. Lately when I cut a sheet of card stock, I've been making 2 cards from it right away. I find I just file away the other half of card stock and then forget I have it. This way I use the whole piece right away!

I used my Martha snowflake punch and Lizzie Anne little Bits for the sentiment. The embossing is my swiss dots folder, and the ribbon pool party.

This weekend I have big plans....Christmas baking, decorating the tree...and making cards and projects. The list is long....hope I get it all done!

Scraps, scraps, and more scraps!

I'm still using pieces of past projects to make cards. The DP is some retired SU. The top note from a bunch I cut out a few years ago, and the mittens were cut using my cricut last Christmas.

I thought I had enough Christmas cards for this year, but actually need a few more, so I've been trying to use what I already have.

Last year I borrowed one of my friends tree nestie dies and cut out a whole bunch!

I used alot of them for tags, but I still had a few left over, so I made them into cards. The DP is retired SU, and the card stock is SU crumb. I added a bit of twine and buttons.....I love buttons!

This set is from Craft Lounge called White Christmas. I really have been having fun with this set.

I love this tree...so pretty with glitter on the snowflakes. I used SU Marina Mist ink stamped on white and old navy card stock.

This week for Less is More the challenge is "a bit of bling"....my bling is the glitter on the snowflakes!

Soft Suede and Pool Party Color Combo

SU Pool Party and Soft Suede sure make a nice color combo. One of my friends was talking about how much she loved that combo, so I made a few cards using them.

For this card I used SU's lattice folder and an oval nestie. The sentiment is from SU's "The Sounding Joy" stamp set. I used my favorite snowflake punch from Martha Stewart and added some SU brads.

Pool party is one of my favorite colors, I think it looks great with soft suede!

I read the Less is More challenge rules and just didn't know what stamp I had that would work for this. I wasn't sure what to use, so I made 3 different cards....just in case!

Today I'm posting this one....I'll post the others later this week. I stamped it with SU's Seasonal Whimsy, all in black.

The other day I made a card using the "thumping" technique for the Less is More challenge. I also made this card with the same technique, but a different leaf stamp. I used SU More Mustard for the base and thumped with SU markers Real Red and Old Olive.

Each card turns out so different.....I'm having alot of fun with this!

Finally I got a chance today to make a card for the Less Is More challenge! I've misssed a few weeks.

This weeks challenge is a one layer card using LEAVES.

I decided to try the thumping technique I saw over at Stamp TV. I stamped the leaf in SU summer sun, then "thumped" on top of that with SU real red, old olive, and pumpkin pie markers. I added some green bakers twine on the stem.

I'm off to check out the other cards...I love to see what everyone else comes up with!

I had a busy weekend....so no stamping...no posting. What to do?

Luckily I found this post I had never published. I guess I didn't post it as I wasn't very fond of how it turned out. I cut the flower out and adhered it to the card, and didn't like my cutting job.

But here it is anyway!

When I saw the challenge this week at Less is More was STARS.....I knew right away which stamp I wanted to use.

Twinkle twinkle little star from My Sentiments Exactly.

One of my co workers just had a baby boy and the shower is coming up so I needed to make a baby card. Last month when I was in the mall shopping, I somehow got in line for a scrap booking rummage sale in the hall....that I knew nothing about until that moment. Lucky me! I made away with alot of fun stamps...CHEAP!

This was one I was looking forward to using. I chose SU wisteria wonder....such a pretty color that I used it for the whole card.....card stock, brad, and ruffled ribbon!

I bought a new winter stamp set last spring on sale that I have been itching to use, so I decided to open it up last weekend. It's from Craft Lounge, called " White Christmas."

I chose SU bashful blue for the card, and punched out the white snowflakes with my Martha Stewart punch. I added some bashful blue brads to their centers.

I love the sentiment...it's why I bought the set!

I made this card with leftover pieces I had from other projects laying on my desk. I didn't stamp a sentiment as I wanted to use this as a note card. I tucked it inside with a meal my friend and I made for a coworker.

Here's another card I made that is very similar to the card I made this week for the "less is more" challenge.

I used the same stamp sets, but switched things up a bit. I used pool party card stock and embossed the heart with silver embossing powder. I added only one button instead of 3, and also added a tiny tag that says,"so loved."

Less is More... SU Sketch It card

The challenge this week at Less is More is a one layer card using a heart. I thought of several ideas, but they all involved layers. I wasn't sure if I would be able to come up with a card for this challenge or not. What to do?

Well..... I decided to look over all my heart stamps and then I found this old retired SU set, Sketch It . I always liked the heart in this set. I knew I wanted to make an anniversary card and already had the sentiment out from Hero Arts ready to go.

I started to stamp the heart with different colors and decided I liked the ones with SU Marina Mist the best. So I stamped the heart with that and added the sentiment using SU black at the bottom. It still needed something, so I put few buttons on the side of the heart.

Rolled flowers

I tried my hand at making some rolled flowers the other day, and used them for this card. I think I need some more practice, but I did have fun making them. The tutorial is here on Splitcoast. I tried to add some pearls to the middle...I found that difficult! I guess I need to fool around with that some more,too.

SU Pool Party is one of my favorite colors. As you can see, the brad, card stock and designer paper is all Pool Party.

The sentiment is stamped in SU black, but I have no idea from which company. A few weeks ago I was shopping at Moorhead center mall with Brent. Actually, I was in Herbergers and glanced out the door to see a big line forming in the hall. I could tell something was going on...... and I figured I better get in line and see what it was!

So I got in line and tried to see down to the front of it. I could tell there were a bunch of tables, but I had no idea what was on them. I felt a little foolish, but I went ahead and asked the lady in front of me, "What are we in line for anyway?" She laughed and said,"It's a scrapbook rummage sale."

I had to laugh. How could I be so lucky?

The only problem was Brent was in a hurry...I had only 10 minutes! All of a sudden the sale opened up, and away I went. I grabbed an arm load of stamps for next to nothing....and quickly checked out, just in time to meet Brent. I got some great stamps, but I can't help thinking what else I could have gotten. There were tables of paper, cricut cartridges, stamps, embellishments that I didn't get a chance to look at.

Oh well....I did get some really nice stamps, though!

SU Loads of Love

I just love this SU set "Loads of Love." I always mean to order it, but then find something else I think I need more. Luckily one of my friends has this set and let me borrow it!

I stamped the image with SU black, then used my SU markers to color in the pumpkins. I used my nesties for the circle and scalloped circle, and found 2 buttons for the wheels. The DP is retired SU, and the card stock SU pumpkin pie.

I made a few more cards using the set for Christmas and Valentines Day,too. It's such a versatile set!

The color of my eyes....

The challenge this week at Less is More is to make a card using the color of your eyes.

Hmmm. Well, sometimes they are blue, or green, or even grey depending on what I wear. I looked in the mirror and today they looked kinda blueish grey...so I chose SU's Bordering Blue. I needed a darker shade also, so I chose Brocade blue,too. Both colors are retired now, I think. I had to dig around my stash to find some blues that would work, and that's what I came up with.

I kept the card very simple, letting the sentiment be the focal point. I just LOVE this set...it's SU's Sounds of Joy from the Holiday mini. I made several cards with it today. My favorite are the ones I made embossing with silver. I'll be posting those soon!

Sparkles Christmas Challenge

Halloween paper cones

A few weeks ago I went to a Taste of Home School here in town. ( you can read more about that here} One of the recipes the chef made was, "Chex pb and chocolate blast." In the magazine it's shown with red and green M&M's, but I decided to use fall colors. I also added some candy corn. You can find the recipe on my other blog, Cookin Up North.

I thought it would be fun to make some paper cones using Halloween paper to package it in.

I started with a 6" square piece of double sided SU {retired} Halloween paper. On one end of the square I cut about 1/2 inch off. The opposite corner I folded back the paper about 3 inches.

Then I used my tape runner on one edge and rolled it into a cone.

I punched a hole on each side and ran some ribbon through. Then I adhered the sentiments on, filled them up and they were ready to go!

I've been into making Halloween cards lately. I'm really in the fall mood I guess. Last weekend I put up all my fall decorations. I even made some mini apple pies...you can check those out on my other blog, Cookin Up North.

Next weekend I hope to make some pumpkin cookies...one of my favorites. I only make them in the fall, I don't know why. They are SO good I should make them year round! Here's the recipe page I made for them last year.

I also need to help with fall chores. The guys took out the boat already but the dock and lift still need to come in. I need to help wash the deck furniture,too. It will be a busy weekend, but I hope I will get some time to make a few cards, too!

For this witch hat card I used SU and Cosmo Cricket paper. The hat I just cut out free hand and added some ribbon and a button. The sentiment is from Stampendous. I tied on some of my favorite black checked ribbon from Offray.

I love inking up my acrylic blocks and trying different color combos. For this get well card I used SU summer sun, Bermuda bay, and pixie pink ink. The flower is from Stampendous Scripty stems, and the sentiment is from Anita's stamps. Both are stamped with SU black ink. I tied a bit of bakers twine on the card also.

I bought a set of Halloween embossing folders after Christmas, just waiting for fall to be able to use them! It's a 2 piece set..the other folder is a scary looking tree.

I embossed the pumpkins on SU pumpkin pie paper, stamped the image from Studio G in SU black. I added some black and white checkered ribbon...that stuff is hard to find, so when I saw it the other day while I was out of town shopping.... I grabbed a couple rolls.

The challenge this week at Less is More is "anything goes." I decided to do another doubles...from last weeks challenge. This card looks simple enough...but it took me 5 tries before I was done. I kept getting ink all over the place...or the sentiment wasn't lined up right!

The stamp set I used is SU's Falling Leaves . I stamped the leaves in SU Old Olive, Summer Sun, and Ruby Red ink. The sentiment is stamped in black.

I plan to make some more CAS cards this week...the goal at Less is More is to have 1000 cards. I guess I could help out!

The challenge over at less is more this week is "seeing double." I chose to use SU's Pumpkin Patch stamp set. I stamped the two pumpkins with Dusty Durango, and the stems and grass with Old Olive. The sentiment and faces are stamped in SU black.

CAS button wreath

Well... I survived the first week of school! {I work as a para in the autism department.} It always wears me out getting back into the routine after all summer off, so I have been too tired to make cards in the evenings. But I did make this button wreath card over the summer to share with you today.

There have been so many button ideas flowing around the blogs this past year! I have seen button wreaths all over the place and liked the idea, so I tried one myself.

Pretty simple! I used SU black ink for the sentiment from Stampendous. I would like to try more wreathes with smaller buttons..maybe I'll feel like playing around with that idea tomorrow!

Today I am going to enjoy the sun!

Cricut quack card!

This card was made using the "Just Because" Cricut cartridge. I love those little ducks! I cut out some smaller ducks to use on some baby onsie cards,too. They are just so sweet.
The sentiment is stamped in SU black ink from Angel Company. I had so much fun cutting out stuff from my friends cartridge I think I need to ask to borrow a different one now. I'm in the mood for Halloween..wonder what cartridge she has for that.......

This was a fun and easy card to make.

I just used my SU square punches and then stamped the cute images from Stampendous on the white squares. I arranged them on the card front and then added the sentiment in black ink from Lizzie Annes Little Bits.

Yesterday Brent and I went for a bike ride on Heartland Trail...it was beautiful as always, but COLD. And there were leaves all over the trail! It feels like fall, and is even starting to look like fall. How did that happen so fast? Last week it was so hot and sunny.

I miss summer!

When I got back I decided to spend some time making a few Thankyou cards. I reached for greens and browns...my favorite fall colors.

I guess if fall is here..... I may as well embrace it!

Sympathy Card

For this sympathy card, I inked up my long acrylic block to stamp the panels. I used SU old olive, summer sun, and dusty durango. The image is stamped with SU black ink from Stampendous, called Scripty Stems. The sentiment is Verve's Notes of Prayer.

I used a Martha punch for the butterfly and added a few tiny pearls. The card stock is SU crumb cake, black, and white.

I need to order more crumb cake paper...it's one of my favorite colors!

The challenge at Just for Fun this week was black, white, silver,and one other color. I chose red! I think red really pops with the black and white. The silver part of the card are the stars on the paper.

The sentiment is stamped in SU black ink from Hampton Art. I used my SU star die for the red stars, and added some bitty buttons in the centers. The ribbon is black checkered from Offray.

Joy ornament card

The challenge this week on Less is More was to make a card that used 3 of their past challenges. This is only my second week participating, so I went back and looked at some of their past posts to get some ideas. I really am enjoying this....I love CAS cards!

The card I made fits the following:

Things that move

Use ink

Shades of blue

Monochrome

For this card, I used my SU ornament punch. I punched the ornament out on white and then backed it with some SU retired designer paper. The card stock is SU baja breeze. I tied a silver bow with SU elastic cord on top of the ornament. I used SU black ink for the sentiment, which is from Stampendous, called "Sripty Stems."

Shadow box

I made this shadow box for my daughter for Christmas this year and just found the photos I took. I meant to post it but I never got around to it!

I got all the supplies at Craft Direct in St. Cloud, one of my favorite craft stores.The picture was from a visit to her place last summer with my mother in law. The 3 of us had such a fun girls weekend... I wanted her to always remember it. My only wish was that we had a picture of all 3 of us...I guess we'll just have to have another girls weekend again and find someone to take one!

SU workshop

Oh it's been so long since I went to an SU workshop...or held one either! I quit being a demo this winter when I was sick. But, a few days ago I was able to go. It was alot of fun!

Here are the cards we made:

There was alot of talk about this embossing folder from the Designer Frames set. My lighting is so poor on this photo you can't see, but because the folder is so small it leaves lines on the card. If anyone out there has figured out how to emboss without those lines, let me know! The folders are really cute, but hard to use.

We all liked this folder.....called stripes. I loved the colors on this card, too.

I really like this new border punch....it just may have to go on my wish list!

I chose the pool party purse....my new favorite color! I LOVE that ribbon too.

Stampin Up Sail Away Birthday card

I made this card for a couple of challenges. I just started participating in some and I find I really enjoy it.

At Cards for Men the challenge was "anything goes." I'm really excited to be participating in this challenge because I struggle making guy cards. BUT it just so happens I have SU's new Sail Away stamp from the summer mini that is perfect for masculine cards!

Over at Just for Fun the challenge was to use black, white, and silver. Love that combo.

It worked well to combine the two challenges. I used SU retired DP, black, and white card stock. The sentiment is from Lizzie Ann called Little Bits. I tied some SU silver cord around the bottom with a silver button I found in my button jar.

This was so much fun!

Less is more challenge

The challenge for this week over at less is more is "things that move." I thought the pinwheel card would be perfect for this.

When I make cards, I usually start several at one time and lay them on my desk for a few days before I adhere them together. I like to be able to walk by and change them around or add more{or less} if I want. Sometimes if I walk away and come back I am able to see it another way that I hadn't before.

Anyway, this pinwheel card has been sitting on my desk most of the summer. I wanted to get a stick for the handle but kept forgetting. When I read about this challenge I went out and got some sticks so I could finish the card.

The pinwheel is just a square piece of SU designer paper cut in from each corner. I pulled the corners together and added a button for the middle. The sentiment is from SU "tiny tags"...I just love that little set!
I tied a bit of bashful blue ribbon to the stick handle.

I'm not sure if this meets all the requirements of a clean and simple card for the challenge. After I had already adhered the stick handle I thought maybe I should have left it off. I used SU Crystal Effects to adhere it all though... so it's on there for good!

Oh well...after all the work of buying the sticks I decided to enter the card "as is" anyway!

This card is obviously not one I would mail. It wouldn't fit in an envelope. I often like to lay my cards inside gift bags..right on top so they can see it right away. I try to coordinate the color of the bag with the card. It's always so much fun to watch people as they see the card right away! People love handmade cards!

Strawberry jam

I made some toppers for my strawberry jam to give as gifts....you can find the recipe and more photo's on my other blog, Cookin up North. I tied some SU real red polka dot ribbon around the jars. For the toppers I used SU real red, black and white cardstock. The sentiment is stamped in SU black with "From the Kitchen." I added a red button on top with some black and white checked ribbon. Hope they like it!

Cricut Sunshine Card

Once again I used the Just Because cricut cartridge to make this card. I love all the images on that cart!

This sun is kinda funky so it caught my eye right away, and I cut out several to have on hand for future projects. I used 2 for this card and put a button on the top big sun to add alittle interest. I stamped You brighten my day with SU black ink from Close to my heart's set, Because of You.

I work at a gift shop in the summers and we sell alot of sayings and signs..."You are my Sunshine" has been a popular sign this season. So has "Twinkle twinkle little star." People buy them to decorate their nurseries. I always have a lot of fun watching people pick out their purchases...sometimes I can even guess what they will buy!

Clean and Simple Butterfly

Hi!

I made this card for a challenge over at the Less is More blog. The challenge this week was to make a card with one layer.

I inked up a clear acrylic block with SU Pixie Pink and stamped directly onto the white card stock. The butterfly was stamped on top of that with SU black ink. I added a sentiment from Lizzie Anne's Little Bits at the bottom corner of the card. The only embellishment I used was an SU pearl for the butterfly.

That's it!

Now I'm headed outside to enjoy this sunny summer day!

Make a wish card

Yes, I'm still digging through my stuff in attempts to make use of all the stamps and products I already have! This card is made with the stuff I dug out yesterday.

I stamped the sentiment in black using "Cupcake Wish" from Kolette Hall. It's a single rubber stamp I got for my Birthday a few years ago. The paper is some retired DP from SU.... it's so bright and cheerful! Perfect for a Birthday card. The flowers are cut out from the other side of the DP. I also added a pearl to the center of the largest flower.

I tied some bakers string on a Birthday candle and used SU Crystal Effects to adhere it to the white label.{that stuff really holds} I actually have quite a few of the labels in different sizes and colors because I borrowed the label nesties form a friend one weekend and cut a bunch out. I can't even keep up with how many different label nestabilities that they have come out with now. I think these were label four.I like having some cut out if I need a quick card. Cute get well card

I think this is SO stinkin cute!

It wasn't my idea though, I cased the card from here.

It was so easy to make. I used glue dots to adhere the google eyes onto the band aids. The sentiment is from SU Wellness Wishes, stamped in black.

I just smile every time I look at it, so I figure it will certainly cheer up anyone I give it too!

Stampendous Scripty Stems Thankyou card

Lucky me!

My mother-in-law bought me this awesome stamp set from Stampendous called "Scripty Stems." The sentiments are such a nice size and the flowers will be perfect for lots of projects.

For this card I used Bermuda Bay ink for the flower and black for the sentiment...which is from Angel Company. I also used some Bermuda Bay polka dot ribbon that I think goes well with the Swiss dot embossing.

I think I'll go make some more cards with this set..I just love it!

Cricut Sailboat Card

Good morning!

I made this card for the sailboat challenge on Cooking with Cricut.

The sailboat is cut out with the Just Because cartridge, and the sentiment is form SU's retired set, "Calm Seas." I really like that set and use it often, especially for guy cards.

I don't do alot of distressing as I'm just not that good at it, but I did do a bit on this card. I used SU Old Navy ink and a sponge dauber.

Tim Holtz Embossing folder

I've been diggin' through my stuff!

Way last winter, or maybe even fall, I bought this beautiful tree embossing folder....and of course never used it.

So sticking to my plan this summer of trying to make good use of what I have, I made a set of clean and simple sympathy cards.

The folder is a Sissix fromTim Holtz.

The stampset is Verves "Notes of Prayer."

I'm off to see what else I can make with this folder...I just love trees...and I especially love the look of these embossed pines!

I lift up my eyes

I love, love, love this verse!

Life can get so frustrating at times, its so easy to forget you are not alone. What a comfort it is to know God is always there to help guide you through these difficult times.

I like the idea that prayer doesn't have to be formal....a whisper, a thought, God hears it all.

Just thinkin.

Anyway, I have a collection of Bible verse stamps, many of which I haven't used yet. If you've been reading my blog lately, you'll know it's been one of my goals this summer to use the stamps that I already have. So I dug into my verses drawer and pulled this out.

I like framing verses, so I used an oval nestie die, then punched some flowers to put around the frame.

Now I think I'll go dig through some more stuff I never use....check back this week to find out what I found!

"Catch you later" cricut card

Good morning!

I've been doing alot of fishing lately so this "caught" my eye when I was cutting out stuff from the Just Because cricut cartridge the other day.

We've been out on our pontoon catchin' lots of sunnies and crappies not to far from our dock. I love eating fresh pan fish!

I haven't fished for years, since my dad used to take me out when I was a kid. Brent used to fish quite a bit but hasn't for several years. So.... we decided to get our licences this summer and spend some time on the lake fishing. We got them just in time,too, the night BEFORE the Minnesota government shut down! What a mess that was...I'm glad it's over!

Sunglasses, my lucky fishing hat, poles, poor little minnows, tackle box, and a couple of cold ones is my idea of nice, relaxing, sunny summer day!

A star is born

Good morning!

Wow it really rained here last night, lots of lightening and thunder! I was on the computer going to post and decided I better turn it off instead. It was pretty late anyway so I just headed to bed! Today looks kind of cloudy and overcast, hopefully the sun will come out later. My flower beds are a mess and I really need to clean them out. For some reason I never get around to that and find myself making cards instead!

This baby card is made of scraps from some other projects I had lying on my desk. I just arranged them on the card and added the sentiment from SU's Picture This set.

Sweet Watermelon

These sweet watermelon are cut out from the "Just Because" cricut cartridge. I popped up the watermelon with some dimensionals and added some black checked ribbon at the top.

Actually, now that I'm looking at this card, it's making me hungry for some watermelon...I need to put it on my grocery list!

SU "Afterthoughts" stamp set

I had a gift card I needed to use up from my Birthday and decided to get a couple of new embossing folders. I haven't bought anything stamping related in months, but that gift card was just burning a hole in my pocket! This folder is from QuicKutz, called "plants."

I liked it right away and thought how easy it would be to make some fast CAS cards....just add a sentiment and some ribbon. The sentiment is from SU Afterthoughts and I have been using the "Just for you" stamp like crazy. I love the font and the versatility....inside the card you can stamp "Happy Birthday", "Happy Anniversary"...whatever! I cut off the bottom that said,"so you don't have to share." It just makes it easier to stamp with, and I like the look better. I kept the bottom though, just in case I would ever want to use it.

Happy Birthday Cricut Card

What another beautiful day here up north! I didn't have to work today and was able to spend most of it outside...well except for making this card....and taking a nap!

I need to spend some time using my cricut though, and it may rain tomorrow so maybe I'll take the opportunity to stay indoors and cut. I need to finish using the cartridge "Just Because" that I borrowed and still haven't returned.

Close to my Heart "On the Beach" card

I just love yellows and blues together..reminds me of summer..so I used the combo for this sailboat card. For the boat I used half of a circle punch, and the sails I just cut out by hand. It's popped up with dimensionals.

The water is stamped with Close to my Hearts "On the Beach" set using SU soft sky ink. The sentiment is from Angel Company...Tagtidbits. I bought that set several years ago and it's the one I use the most. It has 36 tiny sentiments. I just love the font, and because they are so tiny they fit well on many projects.

It was a beautiful day here and we spent most of it out on the lake..not in a sailboat though..on a pontoon!

I finally tried inking up an acrylic block and stamping. I love the look...I should have tried this a long time ago! I used soft sky ink on the block, and black for the rose and the sentiment.

I'm going to try some more of this as soon as I get some time...but I'm headed to work today at the gift shop..so it will have to wait!

I finally made it to card club last week! (I haven't been since last fall.} Each month we take turns bringing a shoebox with all the materials inside to make a card. Each card costs a dollar to make.We made 4 cards.....here they are!

I still have a few more cards I made to share from the SU set "Noble Deer" that I borrowed from a friend. For this one I wrapped some twine on the bottom and added the sentiment with a button. I just love Kraft card stock for masculine cards, and this stamp is perfect for them.

On a boat is a good place to be in this heat! My glasses fog up when I walk out the door....the humidity up here is crazy!

To escape the heat I've been staying inside. I've been enjoying cutting on my cricut in my craft cave this weekend..nice and cold in there..so cold I need a sweatshirt on!

I borrowed my friends "Just Because" cartridge and have been happily cutting cute little sailboats and ducks...and well... all kinds of fun stuff.

The card I am sharing today is made with the little sailboats....and I love the saying, "You float my boat." I tied "Happy Birthday" tags on the rope.

Summer Fun

I cased this card from SU's summer mini. Well.... sort of I guess!

I don't have the Sunny Fun stamp set, but I do have Close to my Hearts "On the Beach" set. So I used that instead. I really liked how they had the string wrapped around the card with the fish on top.

I also had a perfect sentiment from another Close to my Heart set called, " Because of You." It says, "You remind me of the sun...you brighten my day!"
