The Paper Players sketch challenge

Hi everyone!

Sunday means time for The Paper Players and a sketch challenge from Jaydee:

I'm really into Valentines this month, so I made one for this challenge, too. I used Taylored Expressions,"Pieces of my Heart." This is such a cute little set! I had lots of fun with the puzzle piece die that comes with the stamps. For this card, I just added one white puzzle piece on top of the pink heart.

The patterned paper is actually a bit distressed...kind of hard to tell from this came that way. I really never do much distressing, but I do like the look. I also added a few sequins for a bit of bling.

Fluttering hearts

I've been making tons of Valentine cards of my favorites!
Every month I do a card class at a local assisted living home, they LOVE making cards. This month was Valentines, and I think it was one of their favorites to make too. I had 5 different EZ cards ready, and did not plan on actually doing all of them, but since they were having such a good time, I kept going. Some even made even more! I have both guys and gals that come, and I have to say I think this time the guys had the most fun. One made several for his grand kids. I love to see the smiles on their faces when they they leave with their stack of cards!

For this card, I used my Stampin Up heart dies, a pretty piece of patterned paper, and a few sequins. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions," many mini's."

I'm entering this Valentine card at:

It had to be you!

Hi everyone!

Look at the fun inspiration photo for the challenge at The Card Concept:

It was hard to decide which way to go on many possibilities! I decided to concentrate on the wood grain, letters and colors.

The background is stamped with SU's Hardwood onto some craft paper. I backed that on real red card stock. The hearts are some card candy from a friend, and I adhered them onto one of Papertrey's circle scribbles. On top of that I added the word "love."

The sentiment," It had to be you," is one I HAD to buy, as I LOVE that song!  Harry Connick Jr. sang that in "When Harry Met Sally," one of my favorite movies.(check the song out here) I thought it went well with this card.

Head on over to The Card Concept and check out all the many great ideas..and better yet, play along!!

The Paper Players

Hi everyone!

One of my New Years resolutions was to get my stamps out and get inky.

As you can see, I am not doing so great at that one!

I am stuck on dies.... and more dies.

Oh well, I have good intentions, and I did order some new stamps from Stampin Up, so maybe that will get me some inky fingers again!

But I just couldn't help myself on this one. LeAnne's challenge this week for The Paper Players is to make the sentiment the focal point of the card. I've had this cute baby sentiment from Paper Trey sitting on my desk for weeks, and I was just itching to use it. So once again, I used dies..all dies for this card!

I even dug into my stash of die cuts from years ago when I had my cricut going to find the tiny baby bottle and pin. I used to love to sit for hours and cut out stuff to add to my hoard!

I added some Lawn Fawn patterned paper to the back of the word die, and adhered that to a Lil inker stitched rectangle in SU pool party. Behind that I added a MFT stitched banner with some more patterned paper from Lawn Fawn.

Head on over to The Paper Players..we would love to have you play along!

Poppy Stamps Birthday Stack

It's Friday!

I don't know why I'm so excited about that..we have nothing special planned for the weekend, but I guess I do like quiet weekends as well as busy ones, too.

Today I'm sharing another card I made with Poppy Stamps Birthday stack die. This time I inlaid it into a snippet of SU's All is Calm designer paper. I bought TWO packs of it, which is unusual for me, as I don't buy alot of paper. BUT this pack has so many that I really like!

The sentiment is also from Stampin Up's Happiest Birthday Wishes, stamped in black.

I just love this die, and have seen several beautiful cards made with it already...some in very bright and vibrant colors. That's next to try on my list...

I'm entering this at:

NBUS challenge

Good Morning!

Darnell is teaming up with her NBUS challenge over at CASology this week! That stands for "Never Before Used Schtuff." I've already entered Darnell's challenge a few times this month, three are allowed, so I think this is my last until next time!

My never before used schtuff is the Memory Box Birthday Stack die that I got for Christmas. Actually, the Stampin up heart dies haven't been used either. I was probably the last one to finally get a set of those! This card is for a friend who has a Birthday in February.  I used some of my favorite Lawn Fawn paper called Let's Polka. I love the tiny hearts and stripes!

Have a great day!

You warm my heart....

Good Morning!

I made this card for a couple of challenges today....

Challenge 4 Beauty of Winter copy

Use glitter

You are probably looking at my card and thinking..... where's the winter?

It's in the poppy stamps "Frozen Flakes" snowflake die cut!

I decided to combine Valentines day with winter.

For Christmas I got the new little Valentine Lovebugs paper pack from Doodle Bug, and it has such cute paper I just had to use some. I tied the snowflakes and hearts theme together with the sentiment,"You warm my heart."

Next you are probably wondering..where's the glitter?

I just couldn't get a good shot of it, but if you look close you will see it on the snowflakes!

Have a great day!
