Memory Box Honeyblossom Sprig

Hi everyone!

Here's The Card Concept's inspiration photo:

Oh how I LOVE lilacs!

Our first home had huge bushes, we even had a path that you could walk through them. They were much taller then me, and the blossoms were so healthy and gorgeous. And the fragrance...so soft and sweet, both white and purple. I do miss those bushes!

At the home we are now, we do have a smaller bush growing on a hill behind our house. The trouble is, I can't even get up to it to get a bouquet...the hill is WAY to steep, and I end up sliding all the way down. It's not a pretty sight..LOL!

BUT every spring, I find a bouquet sitting on my counter, and the fragrance fills the house. My hubby climbs up that steep hill and cuts me a large bunch because he knows how much I love them:) And yes, sometimes he slides down too, but does it anyway!

Well, I didn't have any lilac stamps or dies, so I used a Memory Box Honey blossom Sprig instead. The blooms are cut with some shades of purple from Stampin' Up. I adhered them onto an Avery Elle wonky rectangle, which I just realized I use for almost every card I make lately! There's just something about those stitches...

I also use this sentiment a lot lately, from Penny Black's Sprinkles and Smiles. I guess I need dig into my other stamps and give this a rest too!

I hope you join us this week at The Card Concept...we would LOVE to have you join us!

Penny Black Snowy Grove

Hi everyone!
I just had to make a quick card for the challenge at Merry Monday this week....let it snow!

I used Penny Black's snowy grove stamp with Stampin Up's heat and stick powder, you can find a tutorial here. The boy on a sled is from Impression Obsession. I stamped the sentiment from Cas-ual Friday's Christmas Carols stamp set.

Love that set! The font's are so awesome.

Have a great day!

Stampin' Up Cherry on Top Birthday

Hi everyone!

Claire has an awesome sketch for us to try this week at The Paper Players:

I'm always in the need of Birthday cards, so I decided to make a couple with this sketch.
I used some fun ice cream cone die cuts from a friend of mine. I had some matching SU Cherry on Top washi tape and used that for my panels behind the circle. I adhered it all onto an Avery Elle wonky stitched rectangle. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up's Endless Birthday Wishes. I stamped the "Birthday" inside.

Alcohol Inks Winter Evening

Happy Sunday!

This week at the Christmas Card Challenge its:

My fave!

A few months ago, I was at a friends house playing with alcohol inks, something we LOVE to get together to do! It's always so fun to see what awesome backgrounds you can make. We ooh and awe over each one! You can find out more about the technique here. Tim Holtz has a great video to watch.

We don't keep track of the inks we use..there are SO many and we just get busy creating. It's almost impossible to create two of a kind of any background using alcohol inks anyway. Believe me, we have tried! Each one turns out unique.

But I do have the name of my friend's stamp...it's called "Winter Evening" from Inkadinkado. ( I love saying Inkadinkadoo...haha) I stamped it with Stazon ink, as we use glossy paper for our backgrounds.

I framed the scene with Impression Obsessions 6 in 1 frame.

The card base is bashful blue...an oldie but goodie from Stampin Up!

I hope you join us at the Christmas Card Challenge..never to early to get going on those cards!

Poppystamps Forest Village

Hi everyone!

Today's card I'm entering in the following challenges:

City Crafter. (house)

Virginia's View (friendship)

Pixies Crafty Workshop

I used Popystamps Forest Village die and did some paper piecing underneath. That took me awhile..LOL!

The sun is from Lil Inker, the sentiment from Stampin' Up, and the grass from Lawn Fawn's stitched Hillside Borders.

I'm looking at all those windows thinking how long it must take to wash them! I've been doing some spring cleaning, and am tired of washing all my windows...not a favorite chore of mine. I sure love it when they are all done though!

Have a great day!

Memory Box Fairyland Butterflies

Good morning everyone!

The Paper Players have a brand new challenge for this week from Sandy:

I guess mine is actually more clean and layered butterflies, not clean and simple....which is what most of my cards are....LOL!

I always look at the Paper Players badge, see the image on it, and miss the clean and simple part! I'll do better the next CAS challenge, I promise, no layers!

I made this card with a bunch of dies from a friend of mine. She didn't have them labeled, so it took me awhile to google the names....but I found them. Google always amazes me, how did I ever get through school with out it?!! I could really have used it back then!

Google told me the butterflies are "Fairyland" from Memory Box, and the "Francesca Heart" from Poppystamps. I added a few flowers from Poppystamps Petal Ribbon die. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Elizabeth Crafts. ( the Birthday part is on the inside of the card) I backed it all on an Avery Elle wonky rectangle.

We would love to have you join us!

Di-Versions Christmas Word Tree

Happy Sunday!

Today at the Christmas Card Challenge it's:

A color challenge!

I used a fun die from Di Versions called," Christmas Word Tree."
I actually cut out two, with two shades of green for a shadow effect to add dimension. For the red bow I used a Penny Black die, and also tied on a craft colored twine bow. I added a red enamel dot in the center, and used the grey and black for the card base.

I hope you will join us at the Christmas Card Challenge this week...so fun to see lots of cards in the gallery!

Memory Box Quinn Flourish

Hi everyone!

The Card Concept has a bright, warm and very cheerful challenge for us this week:

I LOVE those colors.... so this was right down my alley!

I used several dies for my clean and layered card. I started out with the Memory Box Quinn Flourish, and added some flowers from Papertrey and My Favorite Things. In the center is an enamel dot. The sentiment is stamped in black on a Avery Elle wonky stitched rectangle from Simon Says Spring Tulips. I adhered that onto a larger AE wonky rectangle. The card base is Coastal Cabana, from Stampin' Up.

So bright and cheerful for a spring Birthday card!

I hope you will join us at The Card Concept!
