Happy Halloween?

Happy Halloween everyone!

You would think today's post would be a Halloween card, wouldn't you?  But I've already posted my Halloween projects and they have all been delivered!

So today I'm posting a couple of Christmas cards. It feels like it's time for Christmas outside anyway. The sun is out, but it is COLD, and windy. I feel sorry for the kids going out trick or treating tonight. Brrr..hope they have warm costumes! At least it's not snowing. I remember taking our kids out on a few Halloweens when it was!
This week  Tis the Season has a soft pastel challenge for Christmas:

I chose SU's Holiday Home Bundle with last years retired holiday designer paper to make this set of cards. I just love blues for Christmas, and pool party is a favorite.

Have a fun Halloween!

Wrapped in happiness....

Hi everybody!

It sure feels like Christmas time around here with the temps so much colder...some areas even had snow flurries last night. I think it will be a chilly evening for the trick or treaters on Friday!

Here is the inspiration photo over at Festive Friday this week:

Over at 52 card throw down it's enamel dots:

And over at Addicted to Stamps anything goes!

On Saturday I went to a stampers garage sale at a local mall and sitting on one of the tables was an old sizzix 2 present die. You know the yellow plastic ones? I grabbed it, thinking I'd use it for the FF challenge.  I wasn't sure it would work in my big shot, but a couple of friends that were there said it would, so I bought it for a dollar.

I'm pretty pleased with my purchase, even though it's an older one, it sure is cute. As soon as I got home I was cutting out all sorts of presents with scraps of patterned paper. Presents were definitely the inspiration I chose from the photo for my card...but which ones to use? I had made so many!

My favorite were the ones I made with Stampin Up's holiday Designer Paper, " All is Calm."It's such pretty paper. I think I am the only one, so far anyway, not using red in their card at Festive Friday, but I just love the blue and white!

I dug out my favorite SU Christmas set, More Merry Messages and stamped the verse with blue lagoon. I thought "wrapped in happiness" went well with the presents.

Have a great day!

Merry Monday Vintage Christmas card

I'm entering this card over at Merry Monday.

Hmmm..THREE things for this challenge...snowflakes,dry embossing, and neutral colors. Actually FOUR things...they are also asking for a vintage card.

Well, I really had fun with this one!
I used a Memory Box snowflake wreath die, embossed some Memory Box poinsettia's, and used cream, baked brown sugar, and Kraft for my colors. To give it a vintage feel, I added the sentiment and some pearls.

I'm a fan of neutral colored cards, and I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with for this one. Head on over and check them out!

Paper: SU very vanilla, Kraft, baked brown sugar
Stamps: Taylored Expression Holiday many minis

More fun....with Poppy Stamps

I had a great time on Saturday making washi tape cards with friends, and lucky me...I have some more friends coming today to make cards!

We aren't making washi cards today though, but some Christmas cards instead. The one I am sharing today is on the list, but I'm not sure if we will have time, as I have so many planned!
I used my Poppy Stamp Deer Silhouette stamp, framed it with an oval and added some trees and Papertrey's "peace" word die using a snippet of designer paper.

Inside I stamped, " Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace good will toward men."

This verse is special to me as it was the very first verse I learned for my very first Sunday School Christmas program. I remember how scared I was...would I remember it..or not?

It was a pretty big deal back then, getting a new Christmas dress and having all my family there to watch. I wanted to get it right! Luckily, I did.
After the program, we would all get a brown paper lunch bag full of peanuts, hard ribbon Christmas candy, a popcorn ball, an apple, and other goodies inside. It was always an exciting night!

I'm entering this card over at Pixies Snippets Playground:

Pixies Crafty Workshop

And also at Jingle Bells.... they are looking for a "creature" which would be the deer!

Head on over and check out the other cards at the challenges, or better along!

Paper Players More Merry Messages

Check out this fun sketch Nance has for us over at The Paper Players:

I decided to use SU's More Merry Messages, which is a favorite set of mine. I used the sentiment as the focal point of the card.
I just love that makes me feel all warm and good inside!
When I was a kid, I couldn't wait to decorate the tree, and I'm still the same way. We always get a real tree, and I'm after Brent as soon as Thanksgiving is over to go buy one. We used to go out and cut down our own tree, until we got lazy. The last several years we just stop at a local tree lot and pick one out. I'm already looking forward to" hanging the holly, trimming the tree, family and friends as close as can be!"

Head on over to The Paper Players and check out the other cards!

Paper: SU cherry cobbler, white, retired DP
Ink: SU black

Havin' fun with washi...

Good Morning!

I'm excited today as I'm headed out for a day of stamping with some friends. The theme is washi tape, so I made up a couple of cards for us to do.(each of us is bringing cards to make) I thought I would share them with you before I leave.

I saw this idea on Pinterest, and then switched it up a bit to make my cards.

I'm linking up to Seize the Birthday, which just happens to be "washi tape."

I'm off for a day of fun!

Peace on earth.....Cheery Lynn Winter Neighborhood

Happy Friday!

I have a ton of stuff to do today, so this will be a quick post!

I'm entering this card at CASology:

...and also at ABC Christmas ......" UNCOLORED."

I started out by scoring a border on some white textured card stock. I added a house from a piece of the Winter Neighborhood die to an oval, and then to the card. The sentiment is from Paper trey.

I also stamped inside and added the rest of the house border:

Have a great day!

Paper: white textured, patterned paper
Ink: SU black
Stamps: Stampendous Glory to God
Dies: Paper trey, oval nesties, Cheery Lynn winter neighborhood
