The leaves are gorgeous up north..reds, greens, yellows, seems they turned just over night. I'm thinking next weekend they will be at their peak already.
How did that happen? Where did summer go...

Every fall we usually go to Duluth,as the leaves are so stunning at the state parks there, but we were just their a few weeks ago. I'm thinking this fall Itasca would be a fun place to see them in all their glory. I always look forward to hiking the trails and hear the leaves crunching as I walk!

I guess it's only fitting to be sharing a fall card today, but this one I actually made a few months ago. I was over at a friends house, madly making alcohol ink backgrounds in various fall colors. I made a ton of them, and then went home and cut out a bunch of leaves with my Impression Obsession leaf dies. I made several cards, and this was one.

I'll be sharing more of them in the next few weeks, so be sure to stop by!

Ornate Christmas

One of the reasons why I love the Festive Friday challenge are the beautiful photos, and this one is so stunning:

Look at all those goodies to gaze at!

I never use pink for the Holidays myself, just traditional reds and greens, but I do enjoy when other people do, as it's so pretty!

There's so much to choose from, but I focused on the cone trees and the pink flowers.

You can play along with this challenge over here!

Addicted to Stamps  has a holiday theme this week. They are also giving away a prize from Eureka Stamps. Head on over and check out the DT cards...awesome!

Have a great day everyone!

Merry Monday on Tuesday

Hi everybody!

How is your day going? Mine is not too bad, at least my cold is getting better, and I have a few minutes to make some cards. That always makes it a good day.

The challenge at Merry Monday is to make the sentiment the star of your card:

As you can see," Merry Christmas" is the star of my card!

I used  Memory Box dies for both the words and the poinsettias. The only embellishments are a few pearls.

Head on over to see the other cards, there are always some fun ideas!

Fabulous Fab Friday!

Congrats to Fab Friday on their 50th challenge!

In honor they are celebrating with a gold and white challenge:

While my card does have a bit of red and green in it, it IS mostly white and gold!
I noticed one of the designers had a couple colors in their card, too, so I think I am safe!

But I so wanted to participate, and have had no time in my craft room lately because of illness. I always have several cards made, sitting ready to post, so I glanced through them and found that this one just may work.

I used a Memory Box ornament die, along with the sweet Lil inkers bow die. The sentiment is stamped in black from SU.

So congrats again to Fab Friday, I love your challenges!

Paper Players Color Challenge

 Hi everybody!

Anne Marie has a wonderful fall color challenge for us this week at The Paper Players.

Well, the colors remind ME of fall, anyway!

I decided to decorate a small box from Stampin UP, filled with some chocolates, for a friend. The stripes on the box just happen to be Blackberry Bliss. I added a Cajun craze wreath and some fall leaves with all 4 colors on top. Then I tied the whole thing with some raffia.

I also needed a note card to go with, so I kept with the blackberry bliss, and added an always artichoke wreath. The berries are stamped in Cajun craze, and the sentiment in baked brown sugar.

Head on over to The Paper Players and play along!

Paper: SU white, blackberry bliss
Ink: SU baked brown sugar, Cajun craze, always artichoke

It's time for fall cards...

Good morning everyone!

I have a CAS fall card that I am entering in two challenges. At the male room they are asking for autumn/fall and at CASology the word is 3. I think this card fits for both!

I cut the leaves with my IO leaf dies from some alcohol ink backgrounds I made. Then I backed them on Lil inker stitched rectangles....three in a row. The sentiment is stamped with baked brown sugar from Stampendous. I added a few score lines around the rectangle, too. The card stock is natural ivory, I love that stuff for fall! It has little flecks all over it, giving it a more rustic feel.

Be sure to check out both challenge blogs, there are a ton of great cards to browse!

Another NBUS challenge!

Wow...... another NBUS challenge!

I love those!

  1. Christmas
  2. Make two cards using the same stamp.
  3. Both of the above.
  4. None of the above.

I chose number 1.... Christmas!

But honestly, at one time or another, I have used most of my schtuff! So I just grabbed a few things that I haven't used very much.

I think my designer paper is the most neglected of all. I have tons of the schtuff, and never use it all up. I lose interest and am on to new paper as soon as I see it!

The DP I used for the trees was leftover from Stampin Up's Holiday mini last year. The sentiment is also older, from SU's Seasonal Sentiments. I did a couple of lines of embossing before I adhered the trees.

I think I will head over to Darnell's and check out the other cards!

Have a great day!
