The Card Concept

Hi everyone!

The Card Concept's new challenge is:

This is such a gorgeous photo!

I was inspired by the soft blues, pinks and browns and of course the coffee cup! I used Stampin' Ups Cups and Kettle framelits, as I thought the swirls mimicked the pattern off the cup in the photo.

The wreath is from Avery Elle, and the flowers from Poppystamps. I backed it all on an Avery Elle Wonky stitched rectangle. The designer papers are from my scrap box.

I stamped the sentiment in black from SU's Tea Shoppe.

Be sure to check out the rest of the design team cards and play along..we would love to have you join us!

Stampin' Up Cups and Kettle

It's my turn to host the challenge at The Paper Players, and this week I have a simple sketch for you:

I took out my Stampin Up Cups and Kettle framelits to make this card. The paper is all SU,too. I had to decorate the tea pot with a few flowers.  I just love tea, and have a cup every day...usually iced, though.

I used MFT's Blueprints #20 for the background, and the zig zag stitched circle. The sentiment is from Penny Black, and the flowers are also from MFT.

Poppystamps Cute Cottage Gingerbread house

Good Morning!

This week at the Christmas Card Challenge we have an inspiration photo challenge for you:

The peppermint candy inspired me to make a gingerbread house with candy canes!

I used textured paper, as you can see in the photo. And tons of dies! I just love making these houses. I've turned them into schools, haunted houses, Gingerbread houses,Christmas house, a Valentine name it! They do take a bit of time to make, but I just have so much fun putting them together, I hardly notice!

This time I added a gingerbread boy from Tonic. I inlaid all his small pieces. I also used the colors from the inspiration photo.

One more Christmas card done and put away ....the pile is growing!

If you would like to join is, head on over to the Christmas Card Challenge and play along!

Impression Obsession Bouquet

Hi everyone!

I've been playing with some fun dies from Impression Obsession this week. The bouquet die has lots of cute tiny was fun to put them together in an arrangement. I made several bouquets with all the colors of flowers I cut out. Each one is different! I love that the tiny flowers are embossed in the centers.

I also used IO's Thoughts stamp and die set. I embossed the sentiment on black with white embossing powder. It's all backed on Avery Elle's Pinked die.

Be sure to check it out!

If you click the links below this picture, it will take you right to the dies I used for this card.

Memory Box Billow Flower and background/leaves
Die-Namics In and Out Diagonal Stitched Rectangles

The challenge this week is Birthdays.

I made a few panels of water color with my FAVE inks...SU's Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush, then cut out the cute Memory Box Billow flowers, sentiment and leaves. That retro look of the font is so FUN!

I love how bright the colors are and the bit of texture from the watercolor paper. And as usual I added a few sequins. I can't seem to get enough of them and of course the enamel dots, too! I love the look. I stamped the Birthday sentiment inside.

If you would like to play along with this Birthday challenge ( and I hope you do!) head on over to the Dies R Us Challenge blog!

The Paper Players...Wild Thing

Happy Sunday!

LeAnne's challenge at The Paper Players is:

Wild thing!
I thought of that popular rock song right away and now I can't get it out of my head! LOL! Here is a fun version from the Muppets on UTUBE.

When looking around for something wild I saw my flamingo die from MFT's tickled Pink. While it is not necessarily an animal, it is a wild thing, so I went with it and made a fun summery card!

Impression Obsession A Very Merry Christmas

It's time for the Christmas Card Challenge! This week it's anything goes.

The cards I'm sharing today are made with all dies, no stamping at all. I started with My Favorite Things Blueprints #20. The sentiment is from Impression Obsession's A Very Merry Christmas which I inlaid in Coastal Cabana and Real Red. I made two cards so I could use up both colors. The bow is from Penny Black's Whirl Wreath. I also inlaid the star with some silver glitter paper.

Hope you join us!

Memory Box Radiant Sunburst

Hi everyone!

The challenge at The Card Concept is:

Wouldn't you know today it's rainy and a bit chilly here?
We could use some sunshine.....but at least my card is bright and cheerful!

I was inspired by the sunshine and the yellow polka dot paper in the photo. Memory Box Radiant Starburst with all the dots seemed perfect for this challenge. I backed it on some yellow paper, then onto some turquoise. The tiny stitched sun is from Lil Inker, and I put a few pink hearts from a leftover project in it's center. I stamped the sentiment from Stampin' Up's Ray of Sunshine in black. The Hello die cut is also from Stampin' Up. I had to add a few enamel dots, too!

I hope you join us with your warm and sunny cards this week at The Card Concept.! You can check out the rest of the design team here:
