The Paper Players CAS Wildlife/animal challenge

The challenge from Ann at The Paper Players is:

Wildlife/ animal

I made a clean and simple pet sympathy card. (Those are always so hard to make.)

First I stamped the pom onto a Tutti Designs dotted rectangle, then adhered it to a Darcie folder embossed in red.

I backed it all onto some black and left lots of white space and added no embellishments.

Frantic Stamper sympathy card

I'm back with another card I made using the Lovely Labels FRA-DIE-10936 from Frantic Stamper. This time I used a label and added a bloom from Fantasy Flowers FRA-DIE-10955. The sentiment is With Sympathy FRA-DIE-10951.

The background is the gorgeous Tile Pattern Card Panel FRA-DIE-10935. Just perfect for so many cards!

Dies R Us Anything Goes Challenge

The challenge at Dies R Us is Anything Goes!

Dies R Us

That's always a popular one! I like those the best too. I went with a pet sympathy card, using all Frantic Stamper products, along with some alcohol inks for the background.

Here's a list of dies I used:

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you will play along!

Dies R Us Spring Flowers Challenge

The challenge at Dies R Us is SPRING FLOWERS.

Our Challenge Blog

I used the beautiful die from memory Box called "Side Circle Butterfly," to make a sympathy card.

I didn't use the butterfly that comes with this die, though. I used another one from Memory Box. The background is a piece of alcohol ink paper.
The flowers and butterfly remind me of spring.

Here's a list of dies I used:

Memory Box Butterfly

We have some exciting news to share with you.  .Dies R Us now has a sister store with warehouses in the USA and Canada called Didi Crafts

It will ship to both the US and Canada.  Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different.  Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!

Sympathy card

Today I have a sympathy card to share with you, actually a pretty simple one at that!

I scored the card at the sides, added a panel with the Memory Box fern and a sentiment from Many Mini's.

Have a great weekend everybody!

MB sympathy cards

Here are a few more cards I made with alcohol inks. I also used the MB delicate fern die. The sentiment is from SU's simply sketched. I love that set....I use the sentiments all the time.

I saved the ferns I cut out, so now I need to come up with a way to use them up. Sounds like tomorrow a blizzard is headed our way, so I guess I'll have plenty of time to stay in and make cards!

Stampin Up poppy card

This card is made with SU's pleasant poppies stamp . The cardstock is SU too...white and black. The sentiement is my friends, though, and I'm not sure where she go that.

I love black and white cards!

Don't scrap it!

The challenge this week at Less is More is to use your scraps. Well, I have PLENTY of those!

I did some digging around and found some white ovals that I had never used in my scrap box, so I grabbed one of those, and a stray piece of Tempting Turquoise card stock.
I used SU's Thoughts and Prayers stampset, black ink for the sentiment and Tempting Turquoise for the branch. Then I added a few pearls to the centers of the flowers.

I'm off to check out the other cards in the challenge.....

Less is More colour challenge

The challenge this week at Less is More is colour. The colour is Aqua!

I used SU Tempting Turquoise and white. The flower is from SU's Happy Harmony. I also used my Swiss Dots CB folder for the background. I use that all the time....it's definitely my favorite embossing folder. It's still in good condition, for having been used so much!

CAS Black and white sympathy

I did get some time in my craft cave last weekend and I made several cards.

I used SU black and white card stock for this sympathy card. The stamp set is also from SU, called "Because I Care."  The sentiment is from Verve's "Notes of Prayer" and is stamped in SU black ink.

Fall sympathy card

I'm running a bit late today....but wanted to quickly post this card I made. I inked up a block and then stamped the leaf with a darker shade ink. Love that look!

I better get crackin....have a good day!

Sympathy Card

For this sympathy card, I inked up my long acrylic block to stamp the panels. I used SU old olive, summer sun, and dusty durango. The image is stamped with SU black ink from Stampendous, called Scripty Stems. The sentiment is Verve's Notes of Prayer.

I used a Martha punch for the butterfly and added a few tiny pearls. The card stock is SU crumb cake, black, and white.

I need to order more crumb cake paper...it's one of my favorite colors!

Tim Holtz Embossing folder

I've been diggin' through my stuff!

Way last winter, or maybe even fall, I bought this beautiful tree embossing folder....and of course never used it.

So sticking to my plan this summer of trying to make good use of what I have, I made a set of clean and simple sympathy cards.

The folder is a Sissix fromTim Holtz.

The stampset is Verves "Notes of Prayer."

I'm off to see what else I can make with this folder...I just love trees...and I especially love the look of these embossed pines!

With Sympathy

Here's another sympathy card I made with the SU Noble deer set for the Sunshine Committee at school. I used Kraft, white, and some SU designer paper. The deer image is stamped in chocolate chip ink and black ink  for the sentiment. I'm trying not to add many embellishments so these cards can be sent through the mail easily...so I tore the bottom of the of the Kraft paper for some interest and texture.

Stampin Up Noble Deer

Good morning!

It's another beautiful sunny day here "up north" and I am wishing I didn't have to go to work today. Well, actually I am wishing I didn't have to be indoors all day..I really like working at the gift shop, Northern Traditions. They have such fun stuff...and I like talking to all the tourists.

This year one of my favorite things at the store are scrubbies. I LOVE them. In fact I bought a bunch of them for gifts...and for myself! They also have wash clothes. You can get the link to check them out on my other blog, cookin up north. Check 'em out..they are really great!

Anyway, back to the Noble Deer card. I borrowed the set from a friend to make a bunch of masculine cards. I'm making a bunch of cards for our Sunshine Committee at school, and really need to concentrate on some masculine Birthday and Sympathy. The committee sends cards to staff members throughout the year and are always in need of more cards.

I stamped the deer in chocolate chip onto white, and used some of my hoarded retired SU designer paper and chocolate chip card stock. I also tied a bit of twine around the card and added a button.

I'll be posting some more cards from this set later this week, so check back!

Sympathy card

This card is from one of my favorite stamp sets that I own. It's called "On Eagle's Wings" from Our daily Bread. I used SU rose red and soft suede ink and ribbon. I did put a few score lines on the side of the card for some interest.

I'm off to work..have a great day!

Embossed Sympathy card

I've been making some sympathy cards with my new SU lattice folder. {I LOVE this folder. I'm finding all kinds of uses for it!}  I like to keep a few cards of every occasion on hand at work and am low on Sympathy.

Today I used  SU pear pizazz card stock along with a piece of baja blue and Springtime Vintage designer paper for this card. I can't seem to stop using those sweet little vintage roses and added one with some leaves punched from my SU bird punch. The ribbon is some of my favorite...pear pizazz. The sentiment is stamped with SU black.

Sympathy card

I love kiwi kiss. And that kiwi kiss ribbon rocks. I broke into my stash to use some for this sympathy card. It's so soft. I'm just restocking some of my cards....sympathy and thank yous seem to disappear so fast!

Sympathy card

What a beautiful bible verse! It's so comforting at the time of a loss of a loved one. I love the other verse that came with this set also,"I carried you on eagles wings and brought you to Myself."

I made several of these sympathy cards last weekend..used up all my stash of the label die cuts. I guess I need to borrow those label dies again already. I really like the shape and so many verses fit perfectly inside them!
