Wedding gift card

I still had the set Cause for Celebration I borrowed from my friend, so I made a few gift cards with the wedding stamp. This one I stamped with Bermuda bay onto some of the Taste of Textiles paper. Such pretty paper! I added a border and some satin ribbon with a charm that says," to love and to cherish."

paper: white, Bermuda bay, taste of textiles
Ink: Bermuda bay

Stamps:Cause for celebration

Other: SU square punches, SU satin ribbon, charm, border punch

Stars in the sky

I borrowed this stamp set from my friend while she is out of town for awhile...I hope to put it to good use and make several cards with it.

I followed the Mojo Monday sketch found here: http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2009/07/mojo-monday-week-96.html. I always mean to play along but it seems I never can find the time. This is only my second time. I love to look at all the awesome cards. Check them out!

Paper: Bermuda bay, soft suede, thoroughly modern

Ink: soft suede

Stamps:Impression Obsession Sympathy Sentiments

Other: circle and scallop circle nesties, Bermuda bay ribbon, rusty stars

Thankyou

I just HAD to post this card my friend Peg made. I think its awesome. The colors ...the design..everything! I need to make some...if I can find the time. I can't believe its the end of July already...where has the time gone? I had plans and ideas of all the hours I would spend happily stamping this summer...but that hasn't happened. Such a busy summer!

Cookies

This is my go to recipe for oatmeal cookies. It came right off the oatmeal container years ago. I made a batch hoping to freeze some, but no such luck..they're almost gone. I made half with raisins and half with chocolate chips. I guess I need to make some more. Yum!

Love and laughter

...here ever after! This is a 6"x 3" wedding card. The white panel is some Ornare stencil piercing. I just love doing that..although it takes some patience. I added a bow with a charm, and some butterflies. Have a happy Monday!

Buttons

One of my fave blogs is Nichole Heady. She had an awesome idea of making a stamp set to go with buttons. http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2009/07/introducing-everyday-button-bits.html It gave me a few ideas of what I could do with my SU stamps I already have. Here's my take on the cherries using the tart and tangy set. I'm working on a few other button ideas and will post them soon.

I'm really into buttons lately. I have all the SU ones and now I'm into Nichole's. I have my order almost ready to go. My friend Rebecca did a color comparison for me here. http://thereisastampforthat.blogspot.com/2009/05/button-button-who-has-button.html I wanted to know which ones would go with my SU paper. Thanks Rebecca, it really helped! One can never have too many buttons!

Perfect

Joni Miller sent me this awesome 6x6 recipe stand. It's perfect! I am so excited about it! I have been making lots of 6x6 recipe albums and now this gives me another way to use my recipe cards. I love displaying this on my counter...and I know people will love looking through them. I just ordered some more 6x6 pages from stampin up to fill it up.

What an awesome gift they make too. I've had several emails lately from people that want a way to share their family recipes with their daughters, sisters, etc. I had suggested what I had been doing...making 6x6 albums. But this is another AWESOME idea!!

If you'd like to order one, check out her blog for the link here:http://jeffandmeplustwoandthree.blogspot.com/2009/06/6x6-wooden-stand.html

Thanks so much Joni, I just love it!

Another party hearty card

Yep..I am still making cards with the party hearty set. Two cupcake cards in a row! I never really got into the cupcake frenzy awhile back...guess I'm a little late on that. But I'm liking it now!
This little cupcake is from the set Cause for Celebration. I borrowed that from my friend, too. The tiny candle says,"celebrate." So sweet! I added a few beads to the cupcake ....leftover from my jewelry making days. I had a white bow lying around from another project I thought I'd use, but it seemed too blah. So I added the bit of Bermuda bay ribbon and a button to it.

I'm totally hooked on the new in colors already. The Bermuda bay looks so awesome with the melon mambo. My fave color is green so I was a bit disappointed there wasn't one included in this catty's in colors. Now I'm hardly missing it!

Paper: white, melon mambo, Bermuda bay,

Stamps: Party hearty, cause for celebration

Ink: Bermuda bay

Other: oval and scallop oval punches, beads, button, Bermuda bay ribbon, satin ribbon

Birthday card

Hi! I borrowed this set from a friend and had a fun time making cards with it. This one is made with the new in colors soft suede and Bermuda bay. What a great color combo!

For the ribbon I used the horizontal slot punch on each side of the wide oval and put two scraps of ribbon through. I stamped the sentiment and punched it with the oval punch and adhered it to the wide oval. Then I added the two brads. I think this is a great way to use up scraps of ribbon. I don't know about you, but I have a basket full of ribbon scraps!
Have a great day!

Paper: thoroughly modern, Bermuda bay, soft suede, white
Ink: soft suede. Bermuda bay

Stamps: Party Hearty

Other: button latte, wide oval and oval punches, brads, soft suede and Bermuda bay polka dot ribbon

Birthday Bliss

I just can't say enough about this pretty paper...it's from SU's Thoroughly Modern designer collection. I love this piece of Bermuda bay with the soft white flowers in the background. It was a shame to cover any of it up! But it reminded me of my flower daisy die so I dug it out and made some white ones. I added some summer sun cord buttons, too. I love how this card turned out. I plan to make a few more.

Card share

Today I am sharing a couple cards my friend Deb made. She is really into stencils and paper piercing. So cute! I have always wanted to do some myself...but I never get around to it.
BUT..another friend of mine has been playing around with her new CB and stencils with good results. So maybe I need to give it try. It would be alot faster. Deb does hers all by hand. Here's another one:

July card club

I am finally getting around to posting the cards we made last week at card club. Here they are:

Such great ideas and so much fun. Thanks everybody for a fun nite!

Falling Leaves

I love, love, love, this stamp set! I like trees and leaf images and this set is so cute. It has tiny polka dots and lines inside the leaves. See?

I used a piece of my new favorite paper called Thoroughly Modern. That's some really pretty paper! I'm so glad I ordered it.
Have a great day!

Paper: vanilla, soft suede, thoroughly modern, dusty durango, rich raspberry, crushed curry, old olive

Ink: old olive, crushed curry, rich raspberry, dusty durango

Stamps: falling leaves

Other: SU button, hemp twine

I won!

Guess what? I won some blog candy over on http://www.stmprdee.com/2009/07/blog-candy-winner.html. It's a great blog..check it out! Dianne has some awesome ideas.

I never win anything so I'm pretty excited. I love getting mail..who doesn't..and blog candy? It made my day! Here's what I got:

I LOVE these Fleurette's and was happy to see they are still in the new catty.{except now they're a package of just white ones.}

Thanks so much Dianne!!!!!

Sticky Chicky

Yes, that's what it's called..Sticky Chicky! I found the recipe in a Taste of Home and finally got to make it the other nite. It was very easy and delicious. I'm not sure why it's called sticky though. Maybe if you eat it with your fingers they get sticky. I used a fork but if I didn't, I would be licking my fingers, cuz it's so good! I baked mine longer than the 40 minutes, maybe an hour or longer. I like it to fall apart. I turned it down to 350 after the 40 minutes. Then I had it in the oven on warm for awhile as the guys got home kinda late. I didn't have much left over for the next day...I thought it would be enough for two meals. It was devoured!

Paper: real red, black,white

Other: scallop circle punch, stickers

Birthday treat bags

Hi! I thought I'd show you what I've been up too...making a bunch of box in a bags. If you'd like to make some you can find the tutorial here:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/boxinabag/

As you can see, I've been playing with a few goodies from the new catty. I used the stamp set Birthday Bliss and the flower fusion die.

I have several more to make...I'll post them when I get them done!

Butterscotch Rolls

Brent LOVES sweet rolls! One of his friends at work emailed me this recipe for her favorite rolls, as she knows how much he likes them.

I had made this recipe before and remembered how good it was..so I made a pan for HIM....but I had a hard time leaving them alone! So I can't make them very often. Oh..they were as awesome as I remembered!
I used a package of 12 rolls and it was perfect, I don't think you could fit more in a bundt pan. I baked it for 20 minutes... maybe a minute or two longer. It was so easy to throw together and then just bake the next morning. If you haven't tried this recipe yet...you should! Mmmm. Enjoy!

Tuxedo

Good Morning! I cased this cute tux card here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/971533?cat=7477&si=tux%20card

It looked like fun to make. She used it for a prom invitation, but I think it would be useful for weddings too. It would be great for a grooms dinner invite, or a thank you to the groomsmen for being in the wedding. I wonder if there is a bride pocket card? Maybe I'll have to try to make one!

Here's what it looks like opened:

The pocket measures 11 x" 4 1/4" , scored at 5 1/2" and at 9 1/2". Fold the top down and adhere a 1 1/2" piece of card stock. I used a white piece of the specialty SU paper from the last catty. The shirt piece is 8 1/2" by 4 1/4" scored at 3 1/2 inches. Then I used my ruler to cut the pieces off to make the v shape. I used my scorepal to make the lines on the shirt, added some pearl buttons and a bow. That's it!

Blueberry dessert

I made this dessert at my SU class and had quite a few recipe requests. I promised to post it, so here it is! The recipe calls for 2 cans of blueberry pie filling but I used just one.

Oops...just saw I put a "9x12" pan on the recipe.... it should be a 9x13 pan. I bet this would look good in a trifle bowl too. That would be pretty!

You can make it lighter by using lite cream cheese, lite Cool Whip, and cutting down on the powdered sugar. I may try it next time with splenda. You could also top it with fresh blueberries instead of the pie filling too. Any type of berries or pie filling would be good..whatever is your favorite. I should have made 2 pans...there were no leftovers!
