Garlic Buns

This is another recipe from my daughter that we loved... they are so good! I served the buns with my spaghetti casserole, and the next day I had some leftover ham so I made sandwiches with them, too. I doubled the recipe, some I left the regular shape and some I cut in half and reshaped into smaller balls. I like how quick and easy they were and I especially like the garlic flavor.
Tomorrow is New Years already!

One of my New Years resolutions is to get ahead making cards that I actually NEED. I need a ton of Birthday,Thank you, and Sympathy. You'd think with all the cards I make I would have enough on hand. But this card maker never seems to have any! How does that happen?
I'll let you know if I keep that resolution.....

Snowflake Thank You

Now that Christmas is over I need to make several Thank you cards. I made this one today. My son gave me this snowflake punch...I thought they went well with this embossed snowflake folder. I added a few dew drops in the centers, too. I really like the navy and white together. Now I just need to make about 20 more!

PW's Sweet Rolls

These were incredible! I've been reading Pioneer Woman's blog for a few years and I just got her new cookbook in the mail. I was so excited! The book is everything I had hoped for and I have read it about 5 times already. I marked several recipes I wanted to try and this was my first on the list. I love the maple flavoring in the icing, but for those of you that don't... you could just use vanilla instead. The recipe makes a large batch, so I did cut mine in half. But next time I won't. I'll freeze some. These and most of her recipes are NOT weight friendly. She uses tons of butter! But just look at them:

They are the BEST! The dough is so soft and easy to work with...I can't wait to make them again.

On the back of my recipe card are the directions, but if you want to follow this recipe step by step you can find it here:http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2007/06/cinammon_rolls_/ Have fun reading her blog and get her book...you won't regret it!

Chocolate Pecan Pie

I LOVED THIS!!!! It was rich, gooey, and absolutely perfect! I will be making this ALOT. Every chance I get. I made this for Thanksgiving and it was gone that day. I only had one piece..it disappeared before I got a chance to take a photo. I can't wait for all the Christmas goodies to be gone so I can make this again!

Kraft snowman tag

I made this snowman tag with my top note die. I like the kraft with bashful blue. The stamps are from SU Punch Pals. I really have used that set so much. It's a bit sad to put my Christmas stamps away until next year. I've had a lot of fun playing with all of them...wish I would have had more time... but December went by way to fast for me!

We're headed for church tonite...Christmas Eve candle light service...eat....open some presents...eat...watch some movies...eat. Did I mention eat? We'll miss my daughter and son in law because of the Christmas storm...but they plan to come Sunday. Our son made it home before the storm started. We have about 2-3" is all so far...but it's still snowing! Merry Christmas!

Toffee Peanut Clusters

This was another new candy recipe I tried this year. I always make peanut clusters so I decided to switch it up a bit and try them with toffee bits. We all liked them!

Winter Sleigh

I found the template for these cute sleighs at:

Christmas Angel

Good Morning! I'm always teasing one of my friends that her halo slipped...or that she hasn't got one. She always insists it's on..and shining! When I saw this little container I thought of her..so I filled it with a few chocolates. Think she'll notice?

Twas the night before Christmas....

Check this Christmas poem out for stampers! http://bowlofstamps.blogspot.com/ How true is that?

Christmas Pencils

I made some of these for the kids at school that I work with. I also made some of these:

I wrapped the gum in designer paper 2" x 2 1/2" and adhered the erasers. It always amazes me how kids never have a pencil. Or else if they have one it's NEVER sharpened. I always carry extra pencils and a sharpener in my pocket everyday!

Maple Creams

Oh how I LOVE maple flavor! My mother in law has made these for years and they are one of my favorites. I only made half a batch..I should have made the whole thing!
I'm bummed tonite because of the Christmas snowstorm headed our way. It could mean we may have to wait to have our Christmas until AFTER the storm blows by us. Travel looks like it could be difficult. I wanted more snow for the Holidays but not exactly on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! Oh well, better late then never. I guess that's what one can expect living in Minnesota!

Holiday Plate

Happy Monday! I've had this plate I bought at a craft store for a few years. I can't remember what I was going to do with it..so I stuck some SU Christmas rub-ons on it. I think it looks nice on a plate stand on my counter.

Christmas Popcorn

Whats not to like about this combo? Popcorn and candy melts. Nothing I say. My friend gave me some of this last year and I couldn't stop eating it. I really meant to take some home to Brent..but that never happened. This was another recipe I couldn't wait to make this Christmas.

One of my friends made this and packaged it in these cute bags. http://discoverdecipherdigest.blogspot.com/2009/12/peppermint-bark-popcorn.html The snowmen are adorable!

3x3 ornament punch card

Hi! I had some pieces of old navy card stock laying around and decided to make a quick 3x3 gift card. I also had some white paper I had embossed with the petals a plenty SU folder from the holiday mini so I punched out an ornament. The sentiment inside the ornament is embossed in silver and sprayed with shimmer mist.

I hope to post a couple recipes tomorrow...so check back!

Snowman

I saw this cute little snowman SOMEWHERE but I can't find the link. It's made with a 3x3 envelope. You close it and cut the top off. The bottom corners are just bent back. Decorate it and add wire for the handles. That's it..very easy! I tucked a few treats inside.

Update: Here is the link to the snowman. Thanks Nancy! It was driving me crazy trying to find it!

Christmas Tin

Good Morning! Last night I made some caramels and toffee. Then I decorated this tin to put some of the caramels in for a little gift. Remember the felt flurries from last years Holiday mini? I found a few I had left and have been using them up. I thought the red one looked nice with this years Christmas paper. I haven't had as much time as I thought I would to use my new Christmas papers and stamps. It's Christmas next week already and I have so many things I had wanted to make...oh well..I guess there's always next year!

Christmas Cream Wafers

Here is my new favorite cookie recipe. I saw these in a Taste of Home magazine and thought they looked SO good. They are simply wonderful. Very light, flaky, and delicious. They really went together fast...and I doubled the recipe. They are almost gone already so I need to crank out some more!

Here's my favorite part... the inside!

More Chocolate....

I saw this candy here: http://sisterscafe.blogspot.com/2009/02/toasted-coconut-symphony-balls.html:and decided to give it a try this Christmas. Wow, if you like coconut... its a must try. I do..and frankly had a hard time not eating the toasted coconut before I added the chocolate! So I toasted some more to add on top of ice cream..cereal..yogurt...it's all good!

Embossed gift tags

Yes, I am still making tags! I have a basket full... but one can never have too many tags..can they? These are made with a set of four small Christmas embossing folders. I like the tree folder the best. It was hard to take a photo so you could see them well.

I am hoping to post another cookie recipe in the next few days. I have already gone through one batch and plan to make another. So far, I have to say they are my fave new cookie recipe of the year. Yes, I like them that much. They aren't even chocolate... which is usually my major required ingredient! Check back!

Megan's Fudge Candy Cane Kiss Cookies

Here are the cookies I made with some more of the candy cane kisses. I found this recipe here: http://whatmegansmaking.blogspot.com/2009/12/fudge-kiss-cookies.html. She has some awesome recipes I plan to try. These were definitely a winner. The cookie is very fudgy and moist. The peppermint kiss adds such a nice Holiday taste and make them so festive. I love how they look on a cookie tray.
