Shabby Chic

Good morning!

When I was at the craft store in the Mall of America last week, they had a display of "shabby chic" cards on the counter. I loved the look and it inspired me to make this card. I used juniper and gold paint on the chandelier. I really like stamping with paint. It gives such a nice texture and a different look to the image. I also used a bit of gold stickles here and there on the chandelier. One of my friends let me use her retired SU set Artifacts and I had fun stamping the designer paper and craft paper with it. I did a bit of distressing with chocolate chip. The flower and sheer ribbon I bought at the store that day. I wish I could go to the "shabby chic" class the store was having. I just live too far away...but I did have fun making this card!

Paper: craft, non SU designer paper

Ink: chocolate chip

Stamps: Artifacts, non SU chandelier

Other: Non SU ribbon, flower, cord brad, and paint

I love your card! I am totally confused - how do you stamp with paint? That sounds interesting!

The choice of papers and colors along with the paint stamped image really do give this the vintage, shabby-chick look. Great flower.
