happy birthday

Good Morning!

Today it's such a rainy day, perfect for staying home and making cards, but I can't.

I'm not feeling TOO bad about that though...because I start my summer job today!!!

I work at a local gift shop and just love it! I love talking to the tourists that come to town. I love seeing what people buy, ringing it up, well, I guess I pretty much like everything about it. Maybe because it's so different than my school job...it's nice to have a change.

I like my job working with kids that have Autism, too. In fact, this is my last week doing that. As I have posted about this before, we are moving soon. After 25 years working at the school, my last day will be Thursday. It's such a strange feeling walking the familiar halls, seeing the familiar faces, and knowing that in just a few days all that will change, and I won't be coming back to the same place I have known so well. I will miss the kids so much! But I do plan on doing some substituting next fall, once we get settled in.

It's a bit sad to move, but also exciting! In fact, I found out that there are about 10 Stampin Up demos in the area where we are moving. I've been in contact with a few and plan to go to  some workshops. There's also a local craft store that offers a ton of classes. It will be alot of fun! I'll share all my new crafting adventures and projects with you!

Anyway, I wanted to post this card before I left for work...

I just got some of the new fabric brads from SU and think they are so pretty. The card is very simple, I just punched out the three flowers using my SU 5 petal flower punch and Calypso Coral card stock. Then I attached some brads for the centers. The sentiment is stamped in SU black from Angel Company.

I'm off to get ready for work....I have a feeling with all this rain, it may be a busy first day back for me!

I love the bright orange! The button in the middle and the fun font are really cute. This card looks so cheerful.
Changes are exciting and a little sad at the same time. Best wishes with your new journey!
Blessings,
Susie
