Hi everyone!
I'm back with some more homework from the Summer School Class at MFT. This time it's about balance and line. Kay Miller gave the lesson, and I just LOVE her cards. You can check out her blog here.
I really like the technique she used adding lines to her card. First she cut out some strips then inlaid them and cut them out again with a rectangle. I did the same thing, but did not inlay them. I adhered mine to the center third of the card, behind my focal point to give it more emphasis.
Then I adhered the flamingo to the zig zag stitched circle, adding some sequins. I stamped, "Tickled Pink" on the lower third of the card, and inside I stamped," that it's your birthday."
I just love this set and my friends and I have had so much fun with it this summer!
I'm entering this at:
Paper: SU white, pretty in pink, strawberry slush, Bermuda bay
Ink: SU black
Stamps.: MFT Tickled Pink
Dies: MFT Tickled Pink, Zig zag stitched circles, pierced banners, rectangles
Other: sequins

Another brilliant card Laurie...you are on a roll and those fab colours again too. I love the strips and how they have been cut...and the touch of sequins to top it all...seeing them about in blog land quite a bit and keep forgetting to get mine out. Summer hasn't happened here this year so it cheers me to see your 'happy' summery cards.xx
Stunning card! The colours are fabulous and I love the design. xx
Such a cute card. I just love that flamingo.
You've done such an amazing job with the lesson learned here!! Love your combo of colors too!! ;)
