Hi everyone!
Circles! That's the challenge from Jaydee this week at The Paper Players.
One of my friends and I were making some cards with her Memory Box Circle Burst die this summer, and luckily I cut out a few extra.
I thought it would be perfect for this challenge.
LOTS of circles!
In the center I added Technique Tuesdays house. The die comes with the sentiment "Home." The flowers were in my scrap box and I'm really not sure which dies I used. I think some were from Lil Inker and some from Impression Obsession. I made this card for a friend that is building a new home.
I have been super busy the past few weeks.
Some of my blogger friends know that I have been helping with my 82 year old mother in laws health care since April, as she goes through cancer treatment. Her care got to be more than I could handle though, and she decided it was time to go into the nursing home. We couldn't find one nearby, so Monday we drove her down to a nursing home that is near my brother in law and family. It's about 4 hours from us, and I am a bit sad to have her so far away. I had so hoped to be able to finish this cancer journey with her. Big adjustment for all of us.
This card makes me think of her leaving her own home behind, which makes me a bit sad too. But I'm thankful that she has been able to stay in her own home all these years...what a blessing! In fact, she just retired from a full time job last November! What an amazing lady.
I hope you will join us for the circle challenge at the Paper Players...what a fun theme!

Fabulous card, Laurie. I love the lovely die cut house and the Circle Burst die cut making a gorgeous background. xx
Love the colors you layered with that Memory Box circle. It is on my wish list. What a perfect card for someone moving to a new home. I am inspired everytime I visit your blog.
I do love that MB circles die, Laurie ... and you've used it beautifully here ... it's as though the love in that little home is radiating outwards! Goodness, what a tough time you're having ... though your MIL sounds an amazing soul ... prayers for her settling in well and managing the cancer ... and for you during such a difficult period. Anita :)
Ooo, circles, circles everywhere - love how that burst of circles frames your sweet little house Laurie! What a lovely 'new home' card this would make. Hope your mother-in-law is settling into her new care home. Hugs to you!
Laurie, so sorry that you have to be separated from your MIL. I know how difficult it is for you to have her so far away. This card will really make her feel loved when she receives it. The pink heart and the sentiment "home" will reinforce for her how much she is loved.
I love the circles on circles that surround the house. What a perfect choice for my challenge this week. Fabulous card and thank you for rocking my challenge.
Hugs

Wow, Laurie, this is just awesome! That circle die is one of my favorites, and your embellishments are divine! I know you will miss your MIL....I am amazed that she just left her job such a short time ago! Good for her! She sounds like she will be in good hands and you were blessed to be caring for her as long as you could!
Laurie, I couldn't wait to comment on your card. That circle die is PERFECT for the theme challenge. The colors and warmth of your card make me smile! There's no place like HOME!
I am deeply saddened about your MIL. I know you are very sad to have her so far away. You have been so good to be by her side throughout this journey. I know she is so thankful to have a wonderful DIL like you! May God grant her peace. Lots of Love, My Friend! XX
Oh this is just wonderful, Laurie. The circle burst is fantastic and I love all the bright, happy colors you've added. It always amazes me how you can make an entire card with die-cuts and it's always beautiful! I hope your MIL responds well to her new home and that you're able to find some comfort knowing that she is well cared for! Hugs to you and your family!
Amazing to work full time to that age! So sorry she's going through this difficult time & that she will be so far away now. Your card is so creative--love the design & colors & that MB die is wonderful!
