Grandma Anne's Rhubarb Crunch

This is a family recipe that Brent's Grandma used to make all the time. It's really a favorite that has become a family tradition for us. I make it all year round as I keep frozen rhubarb on hand. She was an awesome cook and I have several of her recipes that are hand written from her that I cherish. I can still remember the day she gave it to me, and how she told me to make it in a glass pan because of the acidity from the rhubarb. When Brent and I were first married, I never knew when she'd show up at my door. She would bring flowers {a master gardener} or something she had baked and we would have such great visits. It was always a welcome surprise and she really taught me alot about cooking...which was an interest we had in common. I think you'll like this dessert as much as we do!

Mmmmmmmm!

A great story and a yummy looking recipe! You recipe card is really cute! Have you thought of taking the original hand written one and framing it to hang in your kitchen?

Oh, my goodness, it looks delicious! I love the story behind it. I think it's neat how a shared love of cooking can really make such a strong bond!!!

Laurie, this sounded so familiar. So, I had to dig out my Rhubarb Crunch recp. and low and behold exactly the same. I guess those old Grandmas of ours had great taste. I looked forward to this every summer as a kid. I still look forward to it, but it isn't the same when not made with love from mom or grandma.

What fun patterned paper for your recipe card. I haven't had rhubarb anything in years and years. I might just have to try this recipe. TFS

I came across your blog via Lorri Helling and all I can say if WOW!
I love your stamped recipe cards and the recipes alone are fabulous. I love Rhubarb but haven't a clue what to do with it and now I can whip up your Rhubarb Crisp.
So I have to ask, do all your recipes look like this or are these ones you do to give away?

Dale, I have so many recipes I have collected that I have 6 BIG recipe boxes full! I have tons of cookbooks and food magazines. I take just my faves and make these recipe cards....I am making several scrapbooks out of them. I love food and I love stamping so this is a way for me to combine both. I love to share recipes and try out new recipes on family and friends. Several readers of my blog have been kind enough to send me some of their recipes, which I plan to try this summer and also share on my blog!

Jody, I am glad we share memories of this recipe, and I agree no one makes it better than our Grandma's did!

Jan, You gave me a great idea! I think I will frame some of my treasured recipes....thanks!
