The Paper Players theme challenge

Hi everyone!

This week at The Paper Players, Jaydee has a fun theme challenge for us:

Create a square card...those are always fun to make!

I decided to do a bit of water coloring the other day, and made several background pieces. I grabbed one and cut out the birds from Taylored Expressions, Beauty Lies Within 2 dies. I cut out a black one, too.

And YES I inlaid all those tiny pieces!!!!

I adhered the circle to a white and then a black pierced square from MFT. I tucked a white banner underneath and added 3 small SU pearls to round it all off. The card base is SU's Bermuda Bay. Inside I stamped, "Happy Anniversary." The sentiment is from Hero Arts Phrases.

I added a couple of love birds inside, too!

We sure hope you play along with us this week!

Good heavens, that's alot of little pieces to inlay, Laurie! So worth it though, what a gorgeous and elegant card. Love the watercoloring.

I am late with my comment on this card Laurie but just wanted to say how much I loved that atmospheric watercoloured background. The paper piecing was well worth it - the silhouette is so dramatic!
