Paper Players "back to school"

Hi everyone!

This weeks challenge from Claire at The Paper Players is:

Back to school already? How did that happen?

I used to love this time of year with all the new clothes, shoes, backpacks...it was always so much fun getting ready for school! Now my kids are older and I'm a retired educator...no more back to school for me. But every year I do put together some school supplies for our church preschool and also for my hubby...his office has a school drive. That's always fun! I usually am right in the mix of all the parents and kids at Walmart throwing things into my cart!

So I don't have many dies or stamps for this theme..but I did find some awesome paper and an old dollar stamp from Michael's to use for my card. I used an apple from Cheery Lynn...forgot I had it...but it worked perfectly for this challenge.

I've been noticing lots of plates for card photo's on Pinterest and card blogs lately so I've been trying some out. I've been stuck on using my wood slice cutting board and a doily..so it's fun to change it up. My daughter gave me a set of multi colored plates for the lake and I really like them! She will prolly laugh when she hears we aren't actually eating on them! LOL! I love the distressed edges.

 Here's the blue plate:

Be sure to check out the rest of the Paper Players Design Team!

I hope you will join us!

Laurie, what a fun card and I love that sentiment. I love the bold, bright colors and the popped up apple. I also laughed when I read about the plates and what your daughter might think of you using them to photograph your cards :-) It really does pick up the blue in the card though :-)

You always stage your cards beautifully, Laurie, and this plate is no exception. I love the measuring tape paper and I bet everyone wants some, like I do. I'll have to search online for it or a digital similar one. Once a teacher, always a teacher!

Oh, wow! So bright and fun and colorful! It turned out fabulous with your one little stamp, the apple die, and those super cute papers. I love the plates, too. I can't seem to get flat photos to look good.

I do love the bright colours but my favourite bit is the way the ruler strips back up the cute sentiment. The plate makes a great backdrop for the card but then your cards always looked great!

I love the bright colours on this week's card Laurie and definitely think you can't go wrong with an apple where teacher cards are concerned! Beautifully staged too - I'm sure your daughter will appreciate the plate's new-found purpose!!
