Today Nance has a color challenge for us at The Paper Players:
I used some fun new retro dies from Cheery Lynn:
We actually had a TV something like this when I was growing up! I don't remember any rabbit ears though.
I decided to make a set of cards, one in crumb cake and one in white. As you can see, I did some layering and cut out a scalloped rectangle in lemon lime, and also one in a cool neutral patterned paper that matched the TV perfectly! I used the coral to accent my black retro TV.
I also added some enamel dots for the knobs...I DO remember having to turn a TV on and off..no remotes. My brother and I used to argue about who had to get up and change the channels! It was usually ME..lol!
The sentiment is stamped in black from Jillibean Super Star.

Ha! I remember rabbit ears and having to walk across the room to change channels. I also remember slapping the side of the TV to stop the rolling. Heck, that was in the 70s! Was that really so long ago? I dearly love this retro TV and the paper. Pretty sure I have a similar TV in a digi, but I could be wrong. So cute! Love the lime green and coral.
Great retro pattern paper and TV die. Used together it makes for a fantastic card.
Fabulously retro, Laurie! Love that you used these colors for such a fun card that could be used for anyone. The black and white paper really makes the colors pop. You rose to the challenge with aplomb!
Laurie, I love this retro card! We had the same TV. I tried to explain black and white TV shows to Addison last week. LOL! I think we had 3 or 4 channels! Love that background paper! Where is that from? Love your create idea using these colors! Have a great week, My Friend! XX
Your cards are so cute....love the TV, but that PAPER is amazing!!! Perfect for the dies, very clever!!!
Love that retro tv Laurie - we had one like that too! Such a long way from the the technology of today! Perfect with those bright colours too.
Such a fun retro card and walk down memory lane! We too had a TV like this. I remember foil on the rabbit ears. I guess it was for reception or communicating with outer space...I'm not sure! Hope you had a great week ~ Hugs, Annie
Laurie, I am obsessed with that DSP! It works wonderfully with your retro dies. What a wonderful use of the colors! hugs
