Birthday bag

For this bag I used some paper I found at Michael's a long time ago. I accented it with black and Bermuda Bay. The stamp is from the set Birthday Bliss. I also used several punches....the squares, the scallop edge, and the tag. For the top I used some Bermuda Bay polka dot ribbon to tie it closed. I made lots of these bags...I'll share some more another day!

Wedding cheese cake pops

Ok ....so we had to try these for the wedding after seeing them on Bakerella.http://bakerella.blogspot.com/2009/05/cheesecake-pops.html They were a tad time consuming but worth it. Look how sweet they are! We had wanted to make some pink ones too....but that didn't happen. I barely got these done the way it was. I have a cake and some frosting in the freezer just waiting for an occasion to try her cake pops too. Check out her site...so much fun!

Spicy Farkle

My daughter and her fiancee {oops..husband now} like to play Farkle. Actually we all do. They also like spicy foods. When we saw this Spicy Farkle game we knew we had to get it for them! So I put this gift basket together for her brother to give them. It's got hot sauce, BBQ sauces, horseradish mustard, zesty salsa dip mix, and of course the spicy farkle game and a pocket N.D. Farkle game. I think they'll like it! I added a scallop circle tag with wedding bells stamped on it to the ribbon.

Enjoy a treat!

Stampin Up has these great new bags in the big catty. When I saw them I thought they would be handy to have on hand for small gifts. They go together quickly and are a nice weight to hold heavier items then paper can. I really like all the wide striped ribbon this year too...I put the chocolate chip on this. As you can see, I finally got my Justrite stamps going. I followed the conditioning process and then CUT them. Yes, I took a scissors to them. I kept getting parts of the circle on my paper when I stamped. I just couldn't make them work right. Then one day I read on a blog somewhere about cutting them around the image. This was what worked! There are a few other sets I would like to have so this was a great discovery for me. I used my nesties for the ovals.

I may order a few more boxes for the Holidays....

Flower Bag in a box....

Here are two bag-in-a-boxes I made. I found the paper at a garage sale... I really like the colors. I decided to use chocolate chip paper for the accent pieces. And my scallop circle punch. What would I do without that punch I wonder? It is by far my most used item out of all my stamping stuff! The sentiment on the top is another favorite..from the retired set Best Yet. The bottom one is from Birthday Bliss...which is quickly becoming another favorite set of mine. These are going to be hard to give away. I really like that paper! I'll have to keep on the look out for some more.

Blue Willow Lemonade

When our daughter graduated from college, we took her on a trip down south. One of our favorite places we ate at was the famous Blue Willow restaurant in Georgia. It's in a beautiful old southern mansion. While we waited for our table {which can take hours..that day it took about one} they served lemonade. This was so good... we were hot and tired that day waiting...and it really hit the spot. They cheat a bit and use Country Time as their base. Paula's Lady and Sons does not...they use all fresh squeezed. I decided to go with the Blue Willow for the wedding as it was a bit less time consuming. Doesn't it look refreshing in these mason jar mugs? And how about in this container? Brent borrowed this from a friend. I love it. It's all glass and so pretty! It was fun decorating the piece underneath. I couldn't decide what to put in there...flowers floating in water....sand and shells...lemon slices...so many options! Jenny decided on flowers...so pretty.

Wedding day

I can't believe the day we were waiting and planning for is here and gone. Our daughter and her fiancee got married here at our house by the lake this past weekend. They planned a small, casual wedding with a few friends and relatives. Her uncle married them and it was such a special service. {I only cried a little bit.} It was such a wonderful weekend! The day was beautiful...sunny and warm. Brent and I are so happy everything went well. We are so happy for both of them! Here's a few photos I snapped of the special day.

Mints

These were so much fun to make! My daughter found this sea shell mold at Michael's. We thought it would be fun for mints at the wedding.

I've made mints for many weddings...including my own. They were all flowers and leaves so the shells were fun for a change. I think this mold was meant for pouring melted chocolate in, but it worked well for the mints too. I usually used a rubber mold so I wondered if this would work. The trick was to dip a piece of the mint mix in sugar then pat it into the mold. A few times I had to use a knife to get them out but most came out easily.

They taste great!

Just Married Signs

Here are the signs I made for the pontoon and the car for my daughters wedding. Thanks to my friend Peg for cutting the letters and images out on her cricut. All I had to do was glue it all down. Really made me want a cricut again. I gave mine to my daughter and she loves it for her scrap booking. Hmmm. I'm thinking I see a Cricut Expression in my future! How many months till Christmas?

Key Lime bread

I can't get enough of Key Lime flavor..so when I saw this dessert bread I had to give it a try. Yum! It made 1 large loaf and 2 small ones. I added extra nuts and more icing on top. We ate one right away, and I froze one. I'm already itching to get that one out too!

On Eagles Wings

I've been playing around with my Daily Bread set, "On Eagles Wings." I didn't have alot of time to fool around with this card like I wanted too, but I thought I'd post it anyway...as is. I love this set and can't wait until I have some quality time to devote to it. The paper is soft suede, vanilla, and curry. I put some crystal effects on the eagle. I think this verse is so beautiful.

Summer

This is another simple summer card I made. Gotta use those summer stamps before it's fall! We have some leaves already turning in our yard. It's hard to believe I know, but it's true. Our maple tree has some very pretty red leaves.
I used the Close to my Heart set, On the Beach. I think these flip flops are adorable! There is no sentiment as I am using this for a quick note card. The paper is SU...I think the new in colors really say summertime...especially the Bermuda bay.
Have a great day!

Taco Casserole

I had some leftover tortilla chips I wanted to use up and remembered this quick and easy casserole. I like it because it's easy to eat...not as messy as a hard shell taco. It cuts into nice squares and looks great with some lettuce and tomato on top.

Christmas tags

I was sorting stuff out in my craft cave the other day and found these tags I made for Christmas last year. I used cranberry crisp..one of my favorite in colors of all of them so far. I have a stash I'm hoarding. Any way I thought I'd share them today. I used two of my favorite stamp sets, too. Peaceful Wishes and Flaky Friends. Flaky Friends was the first SU set I ever bought. I still love it!
