Purses

Hi! It's snowing and we are supposed to really get dumped on yet again. It's never ending! I just hope this weather doesn't hurt the people that are flooding in Fargo. I really have nothing to complain about...especially when I see all the photos of the flooding. It must be awful.

Well, when my friends were over stamping Saturday, we really got into making purse cards. The ideas came from the last Weekly Inkling from Splitcoast. I made the one up above and also this one:

Judy came up with this one below, I love the color combo!

AC made this one. Notice the tiny flower buttons...aren't they cute?

This last one I also made out of the delicate dots paper. These were so fun to make...

I think I need to make some more!

Easter cards

Good Morning! Today I am posting some of the Easter cards made by my friend Peg. She made a TON of stuff the other day when we got together to stamp. She was really on a roll!

My favorite is the one with the butterfly...so pretty! Thanks again Peg for all the goodies you made...the baskets and candy bar wrappers were great! {you can look on my post from yesterday to see them}

MoJo Monday

Well this is a first for me. I have never participated in a mojo Monday before. {Actually I have never posted anywhere but my splitcoast gallery.} I love going every week to look at everyone elses cards. The sketches always look like fun. I have always wanted too, but never got around to it. I finally got a chance. Here is the sketch:

I had alot of fun participating and I think I'll be doing it more often. It's fun to see what everyone else comes up with! {http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/

Look what we made!

Hi! Yesterday some friends came over and we stamped all day. We started at 9 am and finished at 9 pm. It was so much fun! Here are a few photos of some of the things we made.

I 'll be sharing a few other cards we made in the next few days..and a few of the recipes from our lunch. Have a great Sunday!

Cherry Blossom

Hi! I made a 3x3 note card with some of the Delicate Dots designer paper from the Sale-a -bration catty. I used the cherry blossom embosslit and some of the so saffron ribbon I like so much, too. I always like making these small cards...they're fun to give as gift sets..and always come in handy to have around to tuck in with a gift.

Happy Easter...

Here's the little chick... again! I used my stampin' Pastels and blender pen to color him, then added some glitter to his shell. Inside the card it says, "you crack me up." I'm really happy with my new punches...the scallop oval and the eyelet border punch. I love punches and use them in almost every project I make. The apricot appeal paper is from the level one hostess sets.."designer series paper 2" and the chocolate chip from the textured "two the nines" paper. I love those colors together!

Card Swap

Here are some of the cards from the card swap this month at work. This month was Thank you. {I should mention that the card with the squares up above was designed by SU demonstrator Yvonne... one of the girls made at a workshop of hers.}

Some used their cricuts as you can see!

I forgot to keep one of the cards I made, but this is similar except I stamped "Thank you" instead of "from the heart." I used my FAVE die, flower daisy #2.

The card with the large flower is actually a pouch...clever idea! As usual I enjoyed ALL the cards. Great job everyone! Next month is "thinking of you."

Fabulous Friend

Hi! This card is made with the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set and the Manhattan Flower embossing die. I've been playing around with it and came up with this card. I started with pacific point card stock and then stamped on vanilla with the same color ink. Then I ran the Baja breeze paper through the big shot in the embossing die. I wanted it to stand out alittle more so I sponged some pacific point ink on it. I love the texture. I added some vanilla ribbon and a piece of vanilla hodgepodge. The sentiment is from the new Oval All stamp set from the Occasions Mini catty coming out soon. I really like this stamp set and can't wait to play around with it some more.
Have a great day!

Egg Basket

This was a fun little basket to make. I found the template herehttp://primitiveseasons.blogspot.com/search?q=Easter+egg+basket. I used the Good Egg stamp set which I'm really getting good use out of. What can I say? I just like that little chick. The colors don't look quite as vibrant on this photo...here's a side view with the colors looking a little deeper.

I'm having a hard time taking pictures with the lighting as it's so dark and rainy here today. It's supposed to be that way all week. At least the snow is melting and I can see grass! So many people are having trouble with flooded basements and over towards Fargo it's really bad. Brent ran over there yesterday and had to drive through some water over the highways. Hopefully there won't be alot of damage this year. Here's the recipe for the basket:

Paper: pink pirouette, tea party, so saffron

Ink: SU black

Stamps: A good chick

Other: fleurettes, brads, lots of tags die, button, certainly celery ribbon, dress up ribbon, crimper, glitter, flower punch

Fudge Topped Almond Bars

I love almond flavor and mixing it with chocolate is even better! This is a recipe I make only when I have company coming or need to take some bars someplace. If I keep them at home I will eat every one of them. Shortbread on the bottom and a THICK layer of fudge on the top....see?

Mmmmm.

Congratulations!

I made this card for a wedding shower with some of my new "stuff "I just got in. I had 5 huge boxes waiting for me when I got home...my first workshop order came in! It was so much fun getting it all ready to deliver.

I was able to pre-order from the new Mini Catalog. I love all the awesome stamp sets it has in it! {They will be available to order on April 1st.} The sentiment on this card is from Eight Great Sayings. I hope to post some more cards using this set later this week.

The paper is Delicate Dots, and the hearts are from Polka Dot punches, both from the Sale-a-bration catty. So is the so saffron ribbon....it is so pretty! Inside the card it says "Congratulations" from the Congrats stamp set.

I FINALLY got some ink for my printer and am working on some recipe cards....I hope to post a recipe for some bars tomorrow...check back!

Daisies

I have so much fun making daisies with the new SU Flowers Daisies #2 die cut! I used 3 of each flower size to make them, then used my bone folder to curl them slightly.I've been trying different colors and just love the pretty in pink on this card with the summer sun and tea party paper. I love the die's and have several. It's just so quick to run one through your Big Shot. They also work in a cuttlebug. Use the B plate, die, and another B plate. I just got my Big Shot. I like the fact it runs things through so smoothly...no effort and doesn't slip around as much. I plan to use it alot this weekend as I need to get going on several projects. Have a fun Saturday!

Paper: SU pretty in pink, summer sun, tea party

Ink: SU black

Stamps: SU Heard from the Heart

Other: SU scallop edge punch, Daisy die cut, summer cord buttons,

Chocolate....

Good Morning! Here are a few photos of a top note box I made containing a small box of Russel Stover chocolates. I used SU tea party paper for the front and almost amethyst for the back and for the box. The dimensions of the little box are 7" x 5 1/2". Score at 3" and 4" on the long side and 1" from each side on the short side. Cut in as shown. Fold and assemble. Add the top note paper and decorate! You can see the box inside from this side view.
The chocolates slip inside the box. Here's another view:

I want to make several of these for Easter. I'd better get going on them! Have a great day!

Paper: SU tea party, almost amethyst, pink pirouette

Ink: SU black

Stamps: SU a good egg

Other: SU word window punch, lots of tags die, brads, ribbon, white gel pen

I'm grilling again....

Steaks. Brent loves a good steak and so does my son. They'd eat them everynite if they could. Especially when I marinate them in this tasty concoction overnite. I usually buy rib eyes, but a few years ago the butcher told me to try flat iron steaks. It's a cheaper cut and taste great. We tried them and he was right,so I do buy them quite often, too. Sorry no photo...they started to eat them before I could take one!

A Michaels find

I picked up some stuff from the dollar spot at Michael's the other day. They were putting out two new isles of dollar items. I grabbed a bunch of the recipe cards and boxes. For this set I tied some old olive and chocolate chip ribbon around the cards and added a scallop circle tag. I think this will look cute in a gift basket of kitchen items. I love making and giving gift baskets!
